No Serenity? Sorry- you fail. And the Reft? Refit perhaps. Reft sounds cool..but I can't find any mention of it. And you and I are one of the very few who love the Cygnus... and a star destroyer at 350:1 scale? OMG . who has room for thatThe Reft, a Star Destroyer, and the Cygnus would be my others. Perfectionists will never be happy, but I have no doubt this will be huge with fans and collectors.
Not PC. But I think its supposed to be the ColumbusCan anyone figure out the name of shuttlecraft 3? The other two are the Einstein and the Galileo, but can’t make out the third one.
I thought it might be the Copernicus but according to canon, NCC-1701/3 was an unnamed shuttlecraft that has never been given a designation. Can anybody make out the name?View attachment 1753093

Dammit! The one time stupid autocorrect didn’t catch something! Fixed. I admit a 1:350 Star Destroyer would be a bit large, but hey I have a two car garage! No Serenity? Sorry- you fail. And the Reft? If that’s true, it seems like a real missed opportunity to be named the “Columbia” as a tribute to the lost space shuttle. Not PC. But I think its supposed to be the Columbus
We need to publish a detailed guide that describes how to display this thing and its components at just the precise direction, height, angle, lighting, etc. to mask all of the warts. We can include talking points for friends and family (and ourselves) on why each issue we’ve discovered isn’t really that bad. I keep thinking that we’re like Spock in the pickup scene in The Voyage Home: “Kirk: I love Italian … and so do you. Spock: Yes”. My delivery is still Saturday so at least the wait will be over.Looking back on their video from April and images from last year they were two piece and no one noticed ...lol ...it's ok though....they will be in the hangar bay.

I don’t know. That really doesn’t look like the name “Columbus” to me. It looks more like “Alexander”?

First - I’m keeping mine. But the betting part is the issue, right? Anyone who backs a future crowdfund will be betting on Tomy to deliver something close to what they promise. In this case, for me personally, it was close enough to not cancel - but I had to adjust my expectations big time.I bet the higher-ups consider this project a success. Almost 3,000 units sold, maybe 200 cancellations that will be resold, and actually not that much backlash. A couple of dozen (at the most) dissatisfied here on the RPF, and a smattering around other sites and FB. Much of those possible the same members from here.
I bet we see a diecast refit with lessons learned incorporated from this project.
After opening the package and playing with it a bit, I gotta say that this thing is freaking AMAZING! I’ll fight anyone who says different!
Just a guess.I’m curious - is your 7% cancelation rate from your source or just a guess?
Stupid cell phones. Yep, that one is orange..but also a few others...that don't appear orange on ours
not seeing the aft-most hangar bay green - and that -on mine at least -looks deliberately done- if not pretty and uniform. But camera tech makes these things -- less obvious. Its just not capturing things as they are. Still not disappointed. Just curious as to differences.
Red and green saucer lights seem to stay on longer and blink less often as well.
And the aft blinking light under the hangar bay seems to be faster as well..
With my old eyes I have to look for the screw covers. If only they had placed those on the side obscured by the stand..... ( but really, I like others, am questioning if the saucer stand is required)
As a Hot Toys collector, I can confidently say the company is complete trash and let's not use them as any kind of guide for moral compass. Not only do they perform deceiving practices with paint (original Robocop not being blue unlike the promo), but they re-release and 2.0/3.0 and even change the height of their figures to the point that you will almost guaranteed to lose money if you ever want to resell your "limited edition" figure. Look at the brand new IM Mark 1 diecast. They didnt fix the height when their new mark 3 3.0 is now a different height similar to their older mark IM 3 diecast line. So its as if they are going to release a new mark 1 in the future with a height increase. There are so many figures I have worth 50% of their original value due to their BS.First - I’m keeping mine. With a Hot Toys figure, we put down an NRD and worst case when we see the final production figure we can cancel and only be out the NRD. Tomy only offered the cancelation option just prior to shipping (influenced or not by the early pics from Australian customers and reaction here and other forums). If a Hot Toys production figure was this different from the prototype there would be rioting in the streets lol. The comment that the Tomy model is the best and most accurate for the price point given is true but meaningless because it’s the only choice for the price point given.
And for those not paying attention like here - there may be a second round of backlash when they open the box.
