Did you Disneybound Star Wars Style for Galaxy's Edge or Galactic Starcruiser? If so, post your pictures.

IMHO, I think any shoe with laces is a hard sell for a Star Wars feel. I think it might be a better idea to develop something to cover the laces rather than under the laces.
Just my opinion.

Technically... Endor Troopers wore lace up boots with visible laces, but I understand, and I don't intend for it to be part of a costume. I just thought this was cool. Like I said, It's subtle, so I doubt anyone will even see my shoes and think I'm trying to bound in them, but I thought it was awesome. My wife has the same Frye Veronica Boots Jyn wears in Rogue One, and I have screen matched Orca Bay Shoretrooper boots and several pairs of Frye Officer's boots. They just aren't comfortable to walk the entirety of Disney World. We are spening 14 days there, so I really wanting high quality technical shoes in a solid gray. I could lace in covers with a zipper down the top to hide the laces, but that wouldn't leave me room to add any Aurebesh. I am thinking about using the laser to add Aurebesh to the sides, just not sure I have the heart to do that to a brand new pair of shoes this expensive.

I made some datapad cases for some friends. Nobody noticed anything.

I thought I'd share what I just made yesterday! I told my wife I was setting out to win the internet. We have an upcoming trip to Disney World (Florida), to visit Galaxy's Edge. We are arriving the day after the dates that were just announced for the Disney World opening of the second main attraction, Rise of the Resistance. First off, I don't want my outfit called into question at the entrance each day, so I'm going in an outfit that fits into the Star Wars Universe, but not going as a specific character. Disney World involves a lot of walking, so I don't want to sacrifice comfort. Rather than wear something Star Wars-esque like my distressed Frye Boots, which are common wardobe props used in the Star Wars films, I wanted a very comfortable casual shoe. I love the ruggedness, comfort, and all day wear offered by a Technical Approach shoe, and I have a couple Arc'teryx brand shoes that are amazing.

So... I thought I'd design a laser cut cover to go under the shoe laces, which covers the orange accents. I also thought it was the perfect opportunity to laser etch the Arc'teryx brand name in Aurebesh for a subtle touch. I know it doesn't scream Star Wars, but I thought it was pretty cool, and I'm relatively sure it's never been done before. I used a tactical waterproof duck canvas in gray, which happens to be a near perfect match to the outside of the shoe itself. I think this looks so good, I may even laser the sides of the shoes themselves.

Please let me know what you think?

That really does look great! Nice job on that cover!

I work at Disneyland and I see adults in costume every day. There's the DisneyBound thing which plays it safe, and there are characters whose clothing is more or less ordinary clothing and thus Guests come in complete costume. The best example is Indiana Jones, I see Indys every day. You just leave your gun and whip at home!

The Han Solo posted earlier works because there's not all that much about his costume that's not ordinary clothing.

BTW I see men in high boots in the Park every day. They include bikers, cowboys, Ren Faire people, Steampunk people, Santa people, and pirate people.

There's a guy who comes in the Park dressed as Stinky Pete all the time, the full costume including knee-high boots.

That's good info. I knew they wouldn't stop people from wearing boots in the park just because they are boots but I was concerned they might if they felt it was a costume component. So good to know.

I still can't get over the fact people wear boots to the park. I guess because I live in Florida and go to WDW and most of the time its hot and I am there all day. But I guess if I was in CA or the cooler months in FL and a local and just spending a few hours in the park, I might be able to deal with boots.

i think you did a good job with the greebles. They look well thought out and not overdone. Good use of design lines and paint application,

Thanks! That’s the comment that comes up most. I’m trying to be a bit thoughtful about it. I was at galaxies edge over the weekend. Lots of detail shots that should make it into the next few cases. Or at least inspire a bit of the design language that is happening in the park. Then again. Seems like my friends really like “inspired by” cases. Which is fine by me.

Not to Disneyland but in general I used to ware east German officers boots for 3 years, till I wore the bottoms off.
Always had the pants tucked inside.

Remember this one moto boots that looked like (but not exact) Mauls boots back in 1999? I got and still have those. I wear them on various occasions. They look cool but terrible walking boots. I would never wear them for a day in the park.

Yeah, I remember those.

I did make the mistake of wearing my boots on a 15 mile hike at big basin.
Couldn't wear them for over a week after that.

Crap I was hoping these were items you could purchase in the park

I bet you could make out pretty good putting them in a Etsy store!

Yeah thought has crossed my mind but honestly. These take time and while I’m happy to make them. It’s tough to carve out 4-6 hours on a regular basis when you have a full time job and a family. Not sure people would be down with a long turn around.

Glad I found this thread! It goes into a lot more detail on the kinds of things I've been wondering about.

I'm just starting the planning stages of my own Disneybound for a tentatively planned trip to GE WDW sometime late next year, and I'm trying to get a feel for what is more or less likely to get me in trouble. Loving the ideas people have been sharing about the phone datapad cases! Very creative!
I've been gravitating towards wanting to do an original smuggler/Rebel agent inspired outfit with a similar look to someone like Cassian Andor or Jyn Erso.

Currently I'm confident that I could easily get in with most of what I have planned - I've read through the official Disney guidelines they released a while back (and which have been linked previously in this thread) - but the things that are sticking out to me are the ban on anything military-looking (which could potentially apply to certain greebles, rank insignia, and, say, blood-stripes), and the ban on holsters. In particular, I'm wondering if one could get away with wearing a belt rig inspired by those of characters like Han and Cassian, but with a pouch of some kind attached to the thigh strap instead of an actual holster. I figure if I made one that was detachable, it would be easy to search upon entry to the park, and it would still maintain that smuggler *look* without directly violating any of the park rules. And what's more, it would be extremely useful for carrying what various and sundry items I might not want to lug around in my pants pockets. But still... I feel like it rides the line just enough that it might not pass muster. I'm definitely curious to know if anyone else has had experience wearing one of those hip-holster style pouches into the park before!

Also, the situation with high boots gives me pause. It looks like everyone (or every man, at least) who has posted here about their successful attempts to Disneybound at GE have chosen to wear low boots or ordinary shoes - and while this is certainly the safer route, I'd love to try wearing some taller boots if I thought I could definitely get away with it. The guidelines they released don't say anything about boots specifically, but based on everything I've seen so far I'm still skeptical they would be allowed (especially in combination with other items that were deemed overtly costume-y).

I think when they say military clothing, I really think they mean they don’t want you wearing replica uniforms. Say like a imperial officer. Because a basic officer uniform is just a jacket, pants, boots, belt and hat. If you simply list those items, they do not break any rules but since it is a costume that could be be mistaken for a cast member in costume, they profit them. But If you are doing a custom rebel style, I don’t think a rank badge or emblem is a problem. They sell rank badges in the park and there has not been any talk of problems or warning.

Doesn’t seem like boots are an issue. I think mainly people might be thinking of comfort.

Definitely don’t wear a holster. Even empty it probably a type of item that might just cause problems because because security would constantly be checking to ensure it was not holding a weapon, real or otherwise. I think like said and made the belt functional so it had a pouch that could carry your phone, wallet, sunglasses, etc... it would allowed. It’s pretty much a fanny pack or even those like the pouch purses that some women wear.
