Hello All:

Reading various 'limited' reports that the Toys R Us has started selling the new Star Trek movie Phaser, communicator and Tricorder ? any confirm/deny ? I went to Target--didn't see anything today.

thanks

I was at TRU last Saturday and they had nothing. Last night I was at Walmart and they had both sizes of the action figures and the electronic E. No phasers, comms. or trics.

The Gainesville, FL TRU has everything. All the Figures, the Ship, and the Role Play items. The Target and Wal-Mart do not yet.

This stuff just hit the Indianapolis area as of last night. Next paycheck going to pick up some toys.

nothing at my nearby TRU, they told me check back Friday. However my local Kmart had 2 phasers out.

A San Diego Walmart has all nine figures and the toy ship. Figures were okay, but the $9.00 each price tag made it a $100 purchase.

I sure hope they catch the audience they are hoping for, because I don't know a single Trek fan who is looking forward to this anymore. At least all the ones I have known since the early days.

Here's to hoping I'm very wrong.

They may not be looking forward to it but i'll wager the majority will still watch it and buy the merchandise.
Doesn't matter if it's liked or not as long as it makes money.

You may be correct defstartrooper, as a Star Trek fan(atic) I will be seeing the film as soon as I can (get it over with quick and begin healing).
I also have the props on order (if there is a model of the new "E" I will get that also, even though I think it looks horrendous)
IMHO I think I can guarantee it will be a big money maker. I believe this because most will be interested (like slowing down as you pass a crash site) in what they have "done" to the characters and the ST time line. Another reason is history..."Star Trek: The Motion Picture" for example!
As you will no doubt note from the tone of this post I am not expecting a great deal from this film and I become more hesitant as new information is released. I do however believe this to be a good thing. Going to the theater with low expectations means the film can only get better by comparison.
Here's to hope, Petseal

There were only nine on the back of figures I saw today?

Kirk
Spock
Cadet (?!?!?) McCoy
Scotty
Sulu
Uhura
Cadet Chekov
Nero
"Original" Spock (boy if that ain't a hint to some cheesewag time slip plot, nothing is.)

Who is the tenth?

Which San Diego Walmart ? I will go after work tomorrow :)

Grossmont Center.

I talked to one of the stocking folks. They said they had no designated space for the new Trek stuff. So they only had about 20 figures and 4 ships out on the shelves. But had cases of both in the back.

So, one of the biggest movies of the summer and they have no designated space for the swag. That's Wally Word for you.

The TRU guys here are saying Thursday they will have the Phaser, Comms, and Trics.

And if you want to build the bridge set, thats 18 figures at around $175. Not worth it IMHO.

You didn't know Leonard Nimoy was in the new movie? And some of the best Trek episodes and movies involved time travel!

I always knew Star Trek series or movies "Jumped The Shark" when they brought in the ole space-time-continuum!!:lol

ST - Enterprise end of Season 1
ST3 - The Journey Home

Just to name a few..........................:cry

That's Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home... III was The Search for Spock.

And if you've got a problem with City on The Edge of Forever, you've got a problem with me, bub!
