Yep, as stated, you're in demo mode. The switch to regular mode is probably behind the battery cover. Please post pix and a demonstration video (including the scanner)! Also, please post pix of the instruction sheet. Thanks!

Thanks guys, I was kinda wondering what was up, I came in the mail and I opened it checked it out and then left, I'm on my phone right now, won't be home until around 6 Tonite, but I'll post tons of pics, my overall view of the piece is that it's pretty damn nice, good size, larger than I thought it would be and looks like it will take some modds very nicely, it also has 2 rows of extra "metal" discs in the compartment, but they don't come out or anything

Ok here we go. You guys were right, I did have it in demo mode, inside the bottom hatch you can move the faux metal discs, thats were the batteries and the switch to change the mode is. The piece is actually very very cool. when the top is opened it comes on, light blink and screen lights up, no sound though. The two buttons starting from the left are scanning buttons, each has a different sound, and they also activate the moire patterns, there are three patterns, one for each button, the far right button has voices, three phrases I believe.

There are no marks or screws on the body at all, everything is sealed up, witch I like very much! The hand held scanner is not motorized, you move it by a slide switch and a button activates the soud, witch is very poor, not loud at all, but the actual tricorder is very loud.

Overall I love it, and will be buying the other two models and maybe one to mod, sorry for the bad pics, there on my phone and sorry for no comparison shots with the other DST toys and i'll post some pics of the instruction sheet later, sorry about that, hope ya like!

silverskyes402,

Thanks for posting the pix. A few questions. Does the thing feel sturdy? What keeps the two doors closed? Magnets? How awkward is it to use the thumb-activated scanner spinner? Is the strap decent quality? Look forward to the instruction sheet. Thanks again,

Pumpernickel

No problem, the piece itself does feel sturdy, to me at least, it seems light for the size of it, but not by much, the strap is pretty good, faux leather I believe. As for the scanner, its pretty impossible to turn the dial and push the button for the sound at once, if there is any complaint about the tricorder I think its gonna be the scanner, I hope the other scanners are better, and the scanner does jiggle around alittle when its in the compartment, but something simple like padding the area in the compartment or a piece of velcro could take care of that. I'll take some more pics of the whole landing party set so ya can get a better idea of the size and scale of it and pics of the instructions.

O, and the doors are held in place by little small plastic nubs, the doors have them and the tricorder body has small indents so they snap together

Thanks. I can't wait to get mine. :) Look forward to more pix. Can you do a demonstration vid? What mods will you make?

Thanks for the pix Skys - I've been waiting to see how this thing looks - and I am getting me one!

AWSOME! :D Like the tatoo as well! :D

Thanks, I love it too lol

Unfortunetly I dont have a vid camera so I cant do a video, I'm not sure about the mods, I'm gonna check out some screen accurate pieces and as many pics as I can find on the trekpropzone and see what can be done, I'm really starting to love the design, was never a huge fan, but now that i have one in my hand it is really cool!

You got a nice looking one. Mine arrived today and it looks like crap. Scratches and glue on several locations. Very poor QA. It's going back.
