Dexter's Kill Bag and Tools

Do we need a vector file for reproducing the rounded edges of the handle and the blade edge? Not sure how the manufacturing process works for something like this.

How big do you think this knife is lengthwise? I finished the vectors for the blade and handles in inkscape. I used foxes art as a guide.
All I have to do is scale it to the right size, then I'll post it here for free.
Jim Porter of Atlanta Waterjet (678 226 2850) could work with the inkscape files or very high res image capture taken from the inkscape files. All he needs is the art and some measurements- like the pin hole size and the length and width of the blade.

I'm thinking the screw thread bolt size is 2mm, but I'm not sure. If someone can figure out the size of the screws head. I can scale it around that and this sucker will be ready to cut.

The blade is not 3/16 thick. I just looked at my H2 knife and that's too damn thick!

The bread knife has an 8" blade. That would make the overall length around 12"-14"? I don't know, seems long.

Thickness?? 1/8"? That handle seems really long.

I don't think waterjets can do that. They only cut things out in Vertical and Horizontal planes "|" or "/" or "\".

That's why I suggested using an air compressor with die grinder and flap wheel sanding disc to round off the edges. That would be the "Damn this is a lot of work" part, and the exact reason for my disinterest in making them.
You could probably get a knife maker to do the edges on the blades as well as the handles. They have a special belt grinder belt to do that.

The Mundial Future 8-Inch Chef Knife's full dimensions are 16.5 x 3.5 x 1.2 inches- so a little bit bigger than that. Still gotta find a match for the screws.

Wow!! That would make the Kill Knife over 16.5"?!?! That's a big knife. I just held a tape in my hand at 16.5 inches and it seems HUGE!!!

Looks like it's 17 inches on the nose to me. Still want to hunt down the screw type. Get the bolt thread size right, make the hole just a tad bit smaller.

I don't know man. 17" Is gigantic in my hand. If you hold a tape out 17" in your hand it just seems huge. I'd estimate 14" going by the picture of Josh Meltzer holding it.

Think about all the chefs in this world the bag won't sell out I guarantee it.This is an expensive prop to build so it's not like alot of people are going after the bags ya know.

Very good point. I'm just afraid with this info out there now, the bags may sell out. I am a worry wart though.

That's true, I can't be too greedy. My problem is I am an OCD ass and need to have EVERYTHING right NOW.

Amazon must have listed the 8 inch knives dimensions wrong. A quick print out of it as 17 inches, and well. It looks to damn big to me. Paper blade bent itself over the wacom tablet- so it looks off in that image.

The handle of the 8" chefs knife measures 5 1/2 inches coming out the kill bag pocket I just measured to the eye from my bag so if the handles that big add on 8" for the blade so that's total 13 1/2 inches for the chefs knife NOW compare it to the kill knife in the bag I would give the overall size of the kill knife another 1 1/2 inches taller.I would say 15 inches total.Take a tape measure and hold your hands gripping the tape like dexter on the 3 inch mark of the tape measure that seems about right.

My vote is 13" tops.
Anything longer would make it a machette and not a knife!
