Dexter

Very cool, Fluid!
I'd scan it and post it up, but he's pretty sensitive about his work "just being up for grabs". So out of respect for him, even though we're not really friends anymore, I won't post his work.

In the meantime, I'll put that on my To-Do-List and see what I can do about making one of my own. I'll post it up in this thread when I finish it up. Be patient though, I've got a lot of projects going now but I'll work on one.

DP, can I ask you if the headshot on your ID is a separate piece under the lamination or is it printed onto the base card?

I just bought on of Shark's replicas, and now I've suddenly become obsessed with working my photoshop magic to make my own. (That's why I won't be asking for a scan of yours, as much as I want it, I just want this to be all my own work)

Hey Nick,
Knowing you, you probably completed this already. However, in Episode 1 of Season 6 last night, in one of the very first scenes, there was a huge version of the seal used on the ID/badges right behind La Guerta. Figured you might be able to use it, if you're making it yourself. It was a 2 color thing too and pretty clear.
:)

What they're using for the Dade county seal on Dexter looks very much like a slightly re-worked Marion County seal, easily found on a Google image search. When I made my card I used that seal as the basis and tweaked the detail in Photoshop.

Not sure who ended up buying the holder I linked above, but I received mine today.

Season 1 laminate and holder.

Later seasons laminate and the new holder.

And a comparison shot of the size difference between them.

The season 1 laminate is a seriously reworked copy of DP's scan (essentially I only used Dexter's picture and a bunch of pieces of the seal to make a complete one), scaled down to fit the proper holder. I just pretended that it has the same detailed back as well, which I ended up having to make from scratch. I found out after I got the copies home that they printed ~4% smaller than they should have. I think I figured out the explanation for that.

The later seasons laminate is also from DPs scan that I cleaned up, and again, made the back from scratch. It is the proper size (2 1/4 x 3 5/8). The laminate next to it is what the back looks like (it still needs to be cut/finished).

Thanks! I ended up printing them on the heaviest paper they had at FedEx/Kinkos. I think they said it was 32# or so. It wasn't cardstock. They made that very clear. LOL It was so thin still that I could barely tell the difference.

I printed the front and back separately, but still on the same page, and gluestick-ed those suckers together, then laminated. They're actually fairly rigid.

hey guys, I've just found this forum after loving Dexter for soooo long!!! So glad that I have too... Anyway, I love reading about all your updates, sadly I don't have much to add.... I know that the 'Greetings From Miami' post card is of Biscayne Bay. But yeah thats all I can really add... Looking forward in viewing more updates! Cheers

I just scored ALL the season 4 badges from the seller who sold darkpassengers dexter morgan ID which I now own recently :cool

Thinking of doing an affordable run of all badges laminated in the correct size.
