Dexter Season 7 and 8

Re: Dexter Season 7

I get the strong feeling Dexter's Trophy box was incinerated to make room for the one he may end up reclaiming from the FBI evidence box...(what we call the "Doakes box")
Doubtful, since Miami Metro wouldn't have legal access to any evidence in FBI storage; at this point Dexter would have no reason to expect he would get it back.

In the show, I think Dexter got rid of his slide box as a way to show Deb he's not like other serial killers, i.e., he doesn't need trophies. As a plot point, the blood slide found by LaGuerta at Travis Marshall's murder scene might be seen as reason to re-open the Bay Harbor Butcher case if she pursues it (as it appears she will) in an attempt to clear Doakes' name. If that's the case, Dexter has unwittingly disposed of a key piece of evidence that could have revealed him as the Bay Harbor Butcher. His "kill tools", on the other hand...I suppose we'll see how that plays out.

I'm curious about how they're going to work Lewis' murder into this season's story arc. Clearly the Russians suspect Dexter's involvement in Viktor Baskov's disappearance, but there has to be a reason they specifically showed Lewis' blood dripping onto the deck of Dexter's boat. If this were any other show I'd think the Russians would use that to somehow set Dexter up for Lewis' murder, but Isaak Sirko (Ray Stevenson) seems to be too much of a "hands on" kind of guy for that to happen; he'd want to get revenge for Baskov's death personally. Then again, at this point the Russians seem to believe there was a conspiracy of some kind at Miami Metro that led to Baskov's death, so...who knows.

This is shaping up to be one of Dexter's best seasons; I just hope the writers don't wimp out and/or drop the ball as they have in the past.

Re: Dexter Season 7

This last episode was really powerful stuff....finally the reflections about Rita and Dexter actually evolving to the point of ridding himself of his trophy slides....(really a huge step for him).

I'm also really anxious to find out how the Lewis/Dexter/Russian Mob connection is going to play out. Do you think this Viktor Baskov is Isaak's brother or lover or mentor? I'm wondering what their connection was.

Re: Dexter Season 7

i was wondering the same last night when Isaak said "everything i do, i do for you"
i think Dexter may eventually get blame for Louis' death. He needs to do what he did in season 2 and check to make sure there is no blood on his boat.

I'm pretty sure we're to believe that they're father and son.

Don't forget, the captain, I can never spell her name, got the evidence box from the FBI in episode 2, I think. So, the box is already in her office and from the looks of the next episode, I think she lets Deb know about it, which will get back to Dexter.

So, even though he doesn't know about it, the writers do.:lol

I don't remember that happening. I remember LaGuerta making some telephone inquiries, but nothing about the Bay Harbor Butcher evidence. Normally I'd re-watch the episodes, but we've had to replace our DirecTV receiver twice in the last few weeks and the episodes I had recorded went away with the previous receiver. I think they're rerunning all of this season's episodes this weekend, so I'll be able to re-record them and re-watch them then...I hope.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Yeah Laguerta was sent a whole box of BHB evidence from the FBI which included the slide box. There is a scene of her breaking an FBI seal and opening the box.

Re: Dexter Season 7

I guess I'll have to re-watch them then; oh, what a burden! :lol I was right, btw, Showtime is re-airing the Season 7 episodes in order this Saturday...just mentioning it in case someone might have missed them the first time around. :D

Re: Dexter Season 7

This season has really taken a turn for the best, I wasn't sure at first but it's really picking up. I wonder what will happen if she finds out it was Dexter who was the BHB, would he kill her like he did with Doakes? I know in the books she dies.

Re: Dexter Season 7

One could only hope LaGuerta gets off'd. By far my least favorite character. Who knows if Dexter would take it as far as killing her. He thought about killing Doakes but in the end was just going to frame him until Lila showed up. He'd have to find someone else in the building to pin it on. Will be interesting as I think the arc with LaGuerta possibly re-opening the case some what go on through next season.
So far it does seem like the writers are on top of their game.

Re: Dexter Season 7

In the preview's for the upcoming episodes, she tells Deb she thinks the BHB is still alive and that he killed Travis. Of course, Deb tells Dexter since she can be considered an accessory, so who knows where it goes from there. But I would not mind seeing LaGuerta gone however it happens.

Re: Dexter Season 7

Holy crap what a great season this has been. Isaak is a beast. This season has been the best since season 4. I am really enjoying it. Seems like Dexter is finally back. The trust issues and love Deb has for Dex is very interesing.

On a side note, during the rerun of the episode "Run" when Dexter kills Speltzer, Mg baby momma says, "What are you going to be looking for a shovel handle now to collect?"

Your response should have been, "No, a crematorium! Go big or go home!" :lol

Re: Dexter Season 7

I'm intrigued by why Victor's exact relationship to Izzak is being kept so secret. We're led to believe that they're father and son from that scene with the photo but I almost feel like a twist is coming.

Re: Dexter Season 7

I'm loving this season so far.

One thing that concerns me is when Dexter admits to killing Victor when he is talking to Issac at the police station. I thought those conversations were recorded by the police.

I'm also concerned that LaGuerta might have noticed the picture with Dexter in it before Deb hid it.

I'm glad the Dexter found out about Lewis and hope that isn't going to come back to haunt him.

I know, I worry about everything.:lol

Re: Dexter Season 7

Yea Isaak is a beast. Like Deb called him "the effing Terminator" and I'm sure he will get out of jail for him and Dex to go toe to toe. He is probably Dexters most leathal enemy he has gone against. Glad he found Louis's blood on the boat. And Deb's feelings toward Dex are very interesting to watch. There has to be something we haven't seen or still may that LaGuerta will find. She won't give this up very easy. Can't wait to see how this all ends. Like DP said best season since 4 and up there with the best of them so far.

Re: Dexter Season 7

I haven't read the last couple pages as I missed the episode last night.

I am really starting to love this season, and I am definitely intrigued by both the Deb/Dexter storyline and Ray Stevenson as Isaac Sirko the leader of (the brotherhood?). I can't wait to see how much more Deb will learn this season, I'm just surprised he hasn't told her about Lumen yet. Seeing as how she let the "Vigilante Lovers" (or whatever she called them) go when she found them with Chase's body.

I will be watching last nights ep in a day or two then I'll come read the last couple pages...
