Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

The foam i used for my hand was only craft foam maybe 1mm 2 at most and used super glue to stick it you have more control than with hot glue on thin foam after 3 coats of pva and paint its quite strong

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Thanks will try that....was unsure with using really thin foam as i wasn't sure how solid it would come out

Hey there Genises, I'm at the same stage of connecting the chest piece to the back armor (both fit over the brace). Demolition is right on with his answer to you. I'll post some pics of how I'm doing the attachment as an example, but in the meantime you can see an example on STEALTH's "The Hero Tutorials" YouTube video - suiting up foam armor. There's examples of Velcro and clip connections. Ideally, you want to make it as simple as possible to suit up.

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Does anyone have a PDF version of the Iron Man helmet than can be printed on 8.5x11 or 11x17 paper?

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Sweet :) thanks, one more question, how is the neck scaled?

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Wow, that a really clean shin !
I think you should post your progress in DancinFool mkIII foam files thread, as this one is for the mkIV/VI
I'm working on the same armor, should be nice seeing each other progress !

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

On the Mark VI armor, there are scales (or plates) the line the center back; these run from the middle of the back armor to the top of the cod. I haven't seen these in the pep foam files; are any out there?

Very nice work Spideyman. Did you use a hot glue gun or another method?

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Can you give approximate measurements? I'm 6'0" - 6'1", 180-190 lbs.

Also, can you explain the differences between LETTER style paper and A4?

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

letter -US and some of the countries around it- 8.5 by 11 inches-usually 60 gsm
A4 -everywhere else- 8.3 by 11.7-usually 80 gsm

STEALTH -

Great work. I have really been learning a lot from your videos. I have 1 question for you:

What build do you recommend for a beginner doing his first project... the MARK III (See:http://www.therpf.com/f24/dancinfool-iron-man-mark-3-pepakura-foam-150333/) or the MARK IV/VI from this thread?

Also, have you investigated doing printing the templates on to paper, and then pasting them to the foam instead of printing on card stock and then tracing on to the foam?

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

dancingfool-57 pages
stealth3687-70 pages
im a beginner also doing my fist build, and i picked this one :) and its awesome so far, i only have the brace left XD
as for your paper issue, i used regular 80 gsm paper and its worked perfectly fine, just gotta be slightly more careful with your tracings :)
