Hi guys just a quick update after just have a half suit up i found it very hot and the helmet lenses steamed up really fast and vision wasn't that good, So i plucked up some courage and with knife in hand hacked off the face plate eeeek!!, After some repair work and extra bit added here and there Ive got it just right there no way it will work with an opening mechanism so Ive gone with the Indiefilmgeek magnet route it helps hold its shape and is easy to remove and attach, Also attached the electrics to the magnets so the light come on when face plate is fitted and go off when removed, I also added magnets on the top so when the face plate is up its hold there Thanks again to Indiefilmgeek for this idea it works really well and it help me cool down and de-steam lol.

Oh bottom half is now all sealed and ready for paint so watch this space

Really nervous on cutting it up to make the back part removable for wearing.

the triangle has one led each on it's angles. . .then the arc takes the job of lightning the triangle better (sorry for my english xD)

Haha, never mind man. I see then. the thing is im not going to build an arc reactor for now, so im looking to buy 10 leds to do it i hope that can do the job, Because i put an pvc layer on the tirangle. For that reason was asking you or asking everyone for that matter, about how can i make shine uniformly a pvc sheet in the MK6 chest

any good advice in painting foam. since i'm stuck because i can't remove the foam look and the paint keeps getting removed/ chips off. recently tried the pva glue method but i don't know why the paint doesn't dry

my parents banned me from using resin so xrobot plasticoat is out.

Been on the forum for a couple months ,just searching, and started using stealth's foam pepakura and his YouTube videos. This is the costume so far. I'm still not sure how to go about sealing and painting but more research and I'll find out. Here is my suit!! How does it look guys?

What you seek are Chicago screws. Use one with a post long enough to go through the layers, but also include a washer so that the foam doesn't wear/rip around the screw

I used some anti fatigue foam I got at Big Lots. I started with the helmet and my lines where crappy. So as I did more and more pieces my lines where so much better like night and day. Finished the shins and they where the best pieces I put together.

Hey all, I am still plodding thru making my mark IV using the files i have found on this thread. (Huge thanks to everyone that has put in their hard work on the files btw!!)
anyways, I am 5'10" 180 lbs. average build. but i have big hands and feet. i finished a hand piece from jOwe's easy hand files and it was way too small. so i am going to scale them up and redo them. my question is about the boots. what size shoes do they fit? i wear a size 12 and planned on building them around a pair of old shoes. will they fit or do i need to scale them up? all the rest of the pieces so far have fit like a dream with the defult scale. thanks!

All of my ROBO pep files for my suit were defaulted to 25.4 also... I am 6'2" and i had to scale most of mine to 26.6 to get it to fit, except for the cod/abs whish i had to scale to 29 ( i do have a 34" waist too) and the boots which i also scaled to 29, ( i wear a size 13 shoe) ... I hope this helps!!!!

Thanks for the quick reply dude, i'm only 5.7 so hopefully the default scale should fit me fine, i think i'll do a test piece of the boot and modify it if needed

Hi guys just got a small update, After getting told off by my girlfriend for being lazy with my iron man gloves and spoiling all my hard work by just using paint ball glove painted the same colour as the suit with a light glued on the front i decided to take the plunge and make some proper hand thanks the the files from j0wE and Stealth i think they look ok alot better than my old ones anyway lol, I just need to seal them now and give them a coat of paint.
