Re: IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates- *Video Tutorial Link in first Post*

Hi there RPF Forum,

I am about to start my first armor bulding project with the STEALTH´s templates and got a general question for scaling.

I read the following scaling threads in order to be sure that my templates will fit me: http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/...hlight=scalingor * http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f32/h...utorial-35523/

Well i actually want to start with the chest of the iron man armor (STEALTH Ironman mark 4 CHEST file) which was constructed for an aproximate 6 feet person as i remember from the forum. The normal Chest width in this file is calculated to 407 mm and has a scale of 25.411754. Now WHEN i unterstood it right I measure with my measure tape my chest from armpit to armpit (like mentioned in the scaling threads above) and get 490 mm width which would be a recalcualted scale of 30.577471.

Just for info: i am 176 centimeters tal =5.77427822 feet (5 feet 919⁄64inches) and got 160 lbs

What is confusing me now is the following. The RPF member Darkside once described a scaling table for persons from 5´3 feet to 6´3 and the overall scale of 30 + would be for someone taller than 7 feet or do i understand something wrong?

Here the table I mean:

Scaling can be difficult. There are many different methods out there. My suggestion would be to find your default scale. This can be guessed based on your height.

5'3" - 5'4" try in between scale 22 - 23
5'5" - 5'6" try in between scale 23 - 23.5
5'7" - 5'8" try in between scale 23.5 - 24
5'9" - 5'10" try in between scale 24 - 24.5
5'11" - 6' try in between scale 24.5 - 25.5
6'1" - 6'2" try in between scale 26 - 26.5
6'3" - 6'4" try in between scale 26.5 - 27.5

Well I appreciate your feedback and I am looking forward to get the missing knowledge!

Best wishes from Vienna

Mathias

I want to say thanks a lot to stealth and everyone in this thread that gave me trouble shooting help before i even had to ask.
About a week ago i decided that i didn't want to be the only person in my group without a costume for a local nerd-con, so i decided i'd hash out an iron man mark iv. There's no electronics, the convention is tomorrow and the paint is still fuming. i'm 6" and some parts of the suit had to be extended to fit my torso and waist, as well as some parts left out so i could fit into things. I ran out of time(and paint, with my budget for the project blown away already) so i wont get to do the gloves or boots. Alas, this is what i'll be wearing. Thanks a tonne everyone.

Re: IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates

Is there a way to change a pepakura file ?
I want to make the triangle different, if anyone is willing to help me please?

The way I want to make the triangle is where the point is at the top, and I want it to be an equalateral triangle. (Kinda so it can be a delta sign). I need help on this ASAP. Cause I need the entire suit done by October 20th at the absolute latest.

Re: IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates

Hello,
New to this site and to using these programs. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to open your files in Pepakura (which I just downoaded) from 4shared. Please please please help me!! I am at the point where I would like to throw my computer out the window then follow it with myself. Haha. I am currently using a mac but have downloaded the program onto a PC, since I couldn't find a version that worked on mac.

Anyone want to save me and my computer?? Haha. I just want to start building my freakin' Iron Man suit! Haha

I have downloaded another fild from another site but I want to have a go at this suit as it looks alot easier.

Re: IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates Thread -Easy to Build and "Green" Vers

Re: IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates

I'm currently working on this build and I was looking for something to harden and fill the helmet as well as have it be sandable. I found this 3M? All Purpose Putty, 1 Quart, 20052 Bondo All purpose putty. I used it on a test piece that I had first coated with modge podge. The results were excellent. It seems to be pretty flexible with out cracking yet hard enough to take wear and tear. I have yet to apply it to the armor and I will up date as soon as i do but After testing it on various pieces I figured I would let people know about it.
