Definitive Arrow Season 2 Deathstroke

I just recommend no one gets Frogtogs or other rainsuit. I was almost hospitalized because of how much I overheated in the costume thanks to those. I switched to black work overalls and am so much happier.

Are there any places selling the armor that goes over the eventer vest or is crafting it yourself the only choice? I feel like that skill is probably out of my current capabilities but would like to have a screen accurate version.

Crafting it yourself is the choice.

It's not hard. Foam cut to shape, fold the vinyl Carbon Fiber Wrap around it carefully, and closure it firmly (I sewed it from the underside to the sides, so it wouldn't be visible on top.)

I don't imagine that's the one they used, but I think it's close enough to be good for the costume. I don't think the one they show is a reverse blade. Mine is also "close enough"

I got that one because it doesn't have a sharpened edge, so I'm more likely to get away with it at a convention :)

Thanks. I am actually really looking forward to making the chest armor now. Do most of you complete the whole costume with only one order or the peel and stick carbon fiber or does it take two? I notice that someone mentioned waiting on a second for their build due to having to redo some pieces. I'm 5' 10", 210 lbs. so I normally wear a Large, sometimes XL.

Given the long shipping times, I'd rather order it now if I know I am going to need a second one. However, I also don't want to waste money on this build as I have other projects going on at the same time.

Thank you for any recomendations

It's sheet of about 20" by 50" so there's definitely a fair bit in one sheet. Easily enough for the chest piece, gloves, arms, and knees if you minimize waste when cutting. But take this with a grain of salt as I personally haven't taken this step yet.

Well, I will answer for anyone else that may be just starting this. Order 2 sets of the sticky carbon fiber if you plan to do the full set of armor. The only pieces I wasted any of the material on and ended up having to "redo" were the small curvy armor part of the elbow. They came out great the second time and I certainly didn't have enough to do the chest armor and needed the second sheet. I didn't complete it in time for AwesomeCon last weekend, but I did wear the rest of my costume with my kids who played Oliver & Speedy!

Wanted to share some pictures from the 2014 Ohio Wizard World con. Finished up my Season 2 Deathstroke costume using all of the great information posted on this thread. There are still a few non screen accurate details I would like to work on, but overall if went well for my first costume build I think. Got a chance to meet Manu Bennett - who was fantastic!!!! He is such a great guy, went out of his way to be friendly to my family. Hope you enjoy the pictures

The more I have stared at every detail as I worked at this, the more I can appreciate the work you did on your costume. I think you absolutely nailed it Deathstroke3! The undersuit and 6 buckles on the chest armor really takes it to the next level. Well done sir!

Are you using a shoulder harness for the sword sheath?
And/or is there a way to attach or build the harness in to the body armor?

The katana is attached to the bandolier that has the grenades on it. Building it into the body armor would not be accurate to the show.

Sorry I never saw the post -- I could have confirmed that 2 orders of the carbon fiber were needed :(

I have a question for all you that have completed this build. What size of equestrian vest did you order? I was going to order a medium (my normal size) but after looking at all the pics of Deathstroke it looks to me like the vest sits pretty high on his torso. I'm wondering if I order a medium if it will be too long in the front. I'm assuming after trimming the back it will be in a similar position as the front. Thoughts?

Judging by the length and amount of gap on the sides, he seems to wear his a bit smaller than the recommended size. I got a Large, which is the size T shirt I wear. It's defintiely a bit bigger on me than his.

I'm not sure how much the length changes between sizes though... I've never had them side-by-side to compare.

I ended up ordering a small vest, which made me nervous since I knew it was coming from China. Once it arrived I was pretty happy with my choice although I will need longer laces for the sides. I am normally between a medium and large. Based on the pics I have seen, it think it will be perfect. I'll post some pics in my build thread once I get the longer laces.
