Limited Run Death Star detention center dome lights! polished aluminium and resin

To everyone here:
I've got most everything now except for the viewers. I would hate to drill holes in originals, does anyone know of any plans to offer a run of replica Slide Viewers. I know Philip Wise did a while back but I missed them. Thanks!
I think they were pretty expensive to produce and mostly more expensive than the real ones. I'm trying to figure out a way to attach my all blue ones without drilling holes too but I've been at it for a while and didn't manage yet to find something that would still look screen-accurate.
cheers

They really aren’t that rare and were mass produced. Don’t feel bad about drilling into them.

Patafix!

More seriously, maybe with strong magnets, glued inside the viewers, using a hot glue gun, something you can easily remove without damaging it

Hey there :)
ok, all lenses are sanded and my wife has already polished 3 out of 4 of the colors! pfiou! that was something!
I'm hoping to finish the bezels by the end of the month, maybe beginning of next month, I will keep everyone posted as always :)
cheers

Hello there,
there was a bit of drama yesterday when my lathe suddently short circuited and wouldn't start again, but after taking it completely apart and cleaning everything thoroughly, it's back up and running! I started adding some aluminium sheets to cover some holes in some places and will probably be adding some sylicone in the small gaps between parts to avoid having this kind of issues again, the whole electronics where full of metal shavings and dust, not great! the motor vents are also opening right in the bottom part of the lathe that collects all the shavings, not ideal either, i'll probably be adding some kind of thin grid here to avoid suffocating the motor but also keep it free of shavings!

so, that was pretty scary, but the run is still on tracks!
cheers

Hello there,
quick update!
I took a small break from the lights themselves to work on making a few more camera kits as they were also out of stock. they are now done and I just released 1 wood and 1 alu kit on the website in case someone needed just that with no lights, the rest will be available when the lights will be ready.
I'll go back to the lights now, the lenses are all done and let's say, 1/3 of the turning operations are done on all the bezels (100 of them). still a few OPs on them, then sanding and polishing. Everything should be ready around mid november at the latest :)
cheers

I just ordered the wooden backing camera kit. I guess, since I’m on the list (I hope) for 2 sets of lights, & now the wooden kit ordered… I’m officially jumping down the rabbit hole. Time to start hunting the viewers.

hey, ahah you could have waited for the lights to order at the same time! thank you for your order. I see that my website didn't like your mail address and you probably didn't get the order confirmation, sorry about that! your order is in no problem though :) thank you very much!

Thank you kind sir (y)
Yeah, I guess I took your post saying that you released 1 wood & 1 aluminum kit as being you only had 1 wood & 1 aluminum. Face palm now. That was my bad. It was a hard day, & I was up way too late.

Hey there, quick update to show that the fabrication is moving forward :)
64 static bezels just one turning opperation away from sanding and 40 FX bezels still at 1/3 of the way:

lights are in stock!
it will go fast as people on the interest list have been warned early :)

if they sell out too quick and more are needed, I'll start a new interest list, no worries!
cheers

Ok this is mostly sold out again, just a few left but no red as they sold out pretty quickly.
thank you very much all for another very quick sale, really appreciate that this run went so well as i'm still starting my business and we are struggling something fierse with my wife so far!

if some of you guys missed out again, I'm really sorry, and once again, I said that I'll try to make everybody happy and I will, you can start posting your specific interest for the lights if you need more, I'll try to do another run beginning of next year if necessary :)
Now, on to finishing the Padme blaster for real!
thanks again!
