That looks pretty good mate, come in red at all?

Hey guys, few questions, that shoulder strap, what is that actually attached to?

Also Testeagle, those are some serious suits, what cons do you take them to (I'm pretty sure you said something about Oz Comicon)?

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been on top of this thread for a bit, pretty busy with suits. I'll probably have 1 of my suits at Supanova Melbourne in April, Oz-Comic-con and maybe AMC

For shoulder strap, there are a few options, shoulder strap off a bag or camera bag, or if you don't wanna make 1, I suggest buying the accessories off a cheap suit and using those.

Re: Aspiring Deadpools, first image of the 2016 film costume has been released.

Did a quick reverse image search for that fabric, this website comes up.

Edit. found the specific fabric, if you need to browse it, search all fabrics and it's the top of page 12 or 13 I think

For gloves I would suggest the following:
Cheap: (Search ebay, tactical gloves and arrange by cheapest) these will set you back like $10 delivered (or less)

Condor tactical gloves: About $20 on eBay

LEATHER FINGERLESS PADDED GLOVES BIKERS TACTICAL SECURITY SPECIAL OPPS & POLICE (3 Pad option): About 20 to 30 on ebay, couple these with a thin glove (maybe spandex/lycra under)

Russian Tactical/Army (SPLAV) gloves: these run around the $45 mark, but probably the best of the shelf option, couple with thin gloves under and mod wrist to be red.

End result, something like this (credit to Deadpool's DNA a client of mine for mods and pics)

Great work guys! This thread is awesome. I've found a number of fabrics that look close with neoprene seeming to be the most likely "spandex" in my opinion (which is probably wrong...) Does anyone know if you can do a silicon 3D print on neoprene? If so what places should I contact to see if they do 3D silicon printing? I know I have a place that will screen print on Lycra so I'll have to try them but I'm having trouble finding anywhere else that might be able to print the fabric.

Another mystery that I have been trying hard to figure out is how does the mask allow the actors head to get in and out. This mystery is only compounded by learning that there is a silicone(?) shell under the mask. At the end of the movie when he takes the mask off we can clearly see it opens along the back with Velcro. However in every other shot of the back of his head there doesn't appear to be a seam. I'm wondering if they are just doing an excellent job of hiding the seam along the back or if the mask and face shell are stretchy enough that they can fit it over the actors head without any seams.

Basically what happens at the end is called "movie magic". That mask was designed specifically for that scene, but I'm betting that they actually use invisible zippers along the seams. Kinda like what they do with the Spidey movie suits where they use a version of the suit with the mask attached to the body in the action scenes, and another version with the mask detached for the "maskless" scenes

Re: Aspiring Deadpools, first image of the 2016 film costume has been released.

Does anyone have any idea how to do the sword holsters? Attaching it to the back is puzzling me. I'm not sure Velcro is gonna work but I doubt it will. Not sure if magnetic clips will work.

I'm no engineer, so maybe there's a better name for it, but maybe you could make a T slot for it to slide into. Then it'll be locked in enough that it won't get bumped off, but you could easily slide it up and off when you need to.

Found it and bought it! Thanks! This thread is awesome. Haha

Happy to help, I didn't wanna post eBay links as sometimes they get removed, even if they are the only source for an item (e.g. holsters)

For those wanting a cheap but accurate sized pair of Deagles, and you're in North America, give these a try: http://www.fcsurplus.ca/shopping/products/17260-44-magnum-high-impact-spring-powered-pistols/

Nice thing is that once you gut them, you can keep the trigger and hammer assemblies working for show. They're almost identical in size to the actual pistols, you just have to make the rail if you want it to be screen accurate, nothing a bit of well-measured cutting can't fix.
