Dead Man's Chest Replica

I've had a very busy summer/fall and did not get as much done on this project as I had hoped. Starting to have more hobby time now, and expect to make significant progress more rapidly.

Decided to start with the end panel on the top of the chest. Have included a quick mock-up test with some of the sculpture castings I've made. I am not much of an artist so please excuse the paint job, will need someone with talent to assist with that (um, Rob, that's you, if you're inclined.?)

Also have included a shot of some of the patterns, molds and castings created for this. I'm somewhat lazy and would rather make a pattern, mold and castings if more than on piece is needed, and on this project, there are many repeating designs and components.

This looks like a fantastic project, because who knows if MR will ever really do one....(they DID have one pictured from Toyfair I think it was, but you never can tell what will actually be released)

Those are looking very good. Really looking foreworth in the further construction of it.
It is already taking great shape.

Just returned from a long vacation in Florida and will getting on this project full-strength. Now that the DVD is out I'll be able to study the on-screen chest to ensure accuracy. Will post progess reports frequently.
