DBP1 MASK PAINTUP UPDATED

Mortal Immortal

I was going to post a full paint up post today, but I have misplaced my finished teeth.
It took me an hour to fully paint this mask running four airbrushes. It has 20 layers of color and paint.

Here is a picture of one of the steps. This is about 15 min into the paint up.

I did this mask backwards from what I normally do. I added the details and layers first and then did my spots. Do to having more then one brush at a time this went really quick. A lot of time is wasted on cleaning a brush and running 4 brushes I didn't have that problem.

Thats a cool idea- step by step animated gif. Looks good from what I can see. I don't envy you though- that mask is a beast!

Thanks Again,

It was to late last night to take pictures out side after having to clean and paint the new teeth so I will get some later today.

Wow....

Scott...you've taken "spots" to the next level. Love the amount that you put around the bck of the head...almost gives it a completely black look

Amazing Scott! You are the master pred head painter..really like the color and depth of this paint up, one of your best yet. :)

WOW, er i ment to say Holy heck that rocks.
I am in awe of a true master

Thanks for the nice comments,

I'm no master; anyone can paint with a little practice, patience, and creativity. My first P1 mask looks like a pile of **** to me now, but after doing a few masks I’ve learned from each mistakes/errors. I think this one turned out ok, but it still pails to my favorite painters on the lair Larry and Mel. Looking at their stuff inspires me to work harder and try to get better.

Its hard to see all the details and it looks almost black in the pictures. Its hard to capture depth and see the true look with out seeing this mask in real life. I do need to work on my spots to make them taper from small to large as Lee pointed out. So my next mask I will try to fix that.

Heres some bigger picture:

Thanks for the bigger pics. Looks really good! And I think that even those who didn't comment would agree on that.
