I had the pleasure and honor of being David's guinea pig for this project. The pics you saw of the finished product were of my suit....the prototype. It is now in my possession and I snapped a few pics of me wearing it. Wanted to give you guys my thoughts on it too.
For a prototype this thing is near perfect. Only problem was with the legs. You can see they are a little loose from about the knee down. Might have been my measuring error. David is investigating that and it will be remedied for production. That was the whole point of the prototype and the only issue that arose with my fitting.
You may also notice some folds around my arms. That's from me not straightening it out before snapping the pics. My bad. It really fits well in that area.
For a couple pics I threw on my boots and the Begins chest. Chest isn't glued yet. Just gives you an idea as to what your finished product will look like. I can't take a decent pic to save my life anyway.
Big question is always - how warm is it? Well I'd be lying if I told you it was as cool as lycra. But while wearing it I don't remember thinking, heck this is hot! Felt comfortable to be honest. Totally bearable. I wore Underarmor underneath it as you can see in a couple of pics. Helps contain the sweat I think.
This thing stretches very well. I was able to crouch, bend over, sit down, and walk like a human. The strap that attaches the cod to the zipper is also very stretchy. And it doesn't give the appearance or feel like a wedgie. Didn't even notice it.
This material is not only screen accurate but tough. It almost seems to have a protective outer layer which is durable yet flexible. Kind of hard to describe. Just doesn't give me the impression of easily snagging like a rubber or PVC coated lycra. It is rugged.
The color is kind of a dark charcoal grey I think. Almost too dark to be gray and too light to be black. Kind of like the color of the suit in those hi-res pics with the white background that appeared before Begins was in theatres.
That's about it. These are really nice and I look forward to gluing some armor to them.
Let me know if you have any particular questions and I'll try my best to answer.
Now for the pics. Don't make fun of the fat guy. At least I had a big tan this summer. Even bigger than last years'.:lol
