Darth Vader Belt Buckle and Boxes

I am thinking about buying some improved belt boxes and a buckle for Vader from the ANH episode.

Will these be compatible with the Rubies Supreme costume? I don't know which episode it (the Rubies costume) is from. I am just trying to get some upgrade pieces for this. THANKS for any info.

The Rubies supreme is based on the ROTS costume, but the helmet is based (although modified) on the ESB version.

If you're going for ANH, then the only somewhat salvageable pieces from the Rubies would be the bodysuit and shins...

it really depends how accurate you want it. like most said you would need to loose most of the suit or slowly buy better bits but if your not bothered about accuracy or slowly wanna build a bit by bit then belts a good place to start. i reccomend rusrep stuff lots posted here about them and pics. the rubies helmet can be modded with some work to anh and look pretty good, i have one done this way gathering dust in the closet lol.
remember on anh he wears the inner robe over the armour this will hide alot of your rubies armour, maybe hand paint the grey to gritty it up a bit.

sew lines accross the way on the gloves like anh.

lots of good priced well made anh vader gloves about good second buy thats not too dear.

However, i promise you you will get hooked and end up going for fully accurate.

Yes, he speaks the truth. I started with a Rubies and I now have 4 helmets, 3 chestboxes, 2 cape sets, soon to be 3 body suits, etc... Need I go on?

Here are my first belt i finished in ANH style using Russ' buckle and boxes. They are for sale if your interested.

Just my opinion but you need to weather it to make it look more authentic.

True i have just been working on my second set scuffing them up a little to be more accurate, so i am parting with the first. Anyone who buys them can then chose how they weather them or not. Heres my lattest set.

Much more authentic looking. How do you do the weathering?

I used a combination of wet and dry sand paper, small hobby files and a ten pence piece to weather these up a little, and gave them a rub with some t-cut after to smooth things over a bit.
