Mike, correct me if I'm wrong, but is it true that you are creating what I will call a Version 2.1 and Version 2.2 of the Mark VII? One of which will be extremely detailed but requires a lot of effort in pepping. While the other one is simplified and gets the Mark VII's basic silhouette making it easier to pep, but requires manual detailing. Because that would be awesome :)

WOW!!:love

How did you make them so smooth? You already unfolded it? Will it be harder to pep or almost like the old ones?

:eek:eek:love

Thanks. I am using a new modeling technique I picked up to smooth out the parts and help with the shape. Nothing has been unfolded yet, I am still working on the model. To answer both members questions... Yes I am making a V2 LD (low detail) and a V2 HD (high detail) model. The model itself will be the same but the LD file will be very basic and will not include any grooves or panel lines and the HD file will have all the panel lines more like my V1 files. The LD file will not have any moveable panels/flaps and the HD file will have all the moveable panels/flaps.

Awesome!

But basically when you'll be done with the model the assembled parts will look the same as in Josh Herman 3d model right? Even the proportions?

If that's so it's gonna be the best iron man build ever!

I have a question: For the forearm pieces, how should we measure for the length since it's two pieces that fit together? Should we still measure our actual forearm length and sort of trial-and-error the pieces?

Thanks!

Thanks everyone.

@softblubber - There was a technique where someone took a screen grab and overlayed the armor over a pic of their forearm using a ruller next to the arm for scale. If you are good at photoshop or another similar program you can do this. Otherwise you will just have to estimate how big to make them. My suggestion would be to do the upper forearm first. Not only is it easier to pep but it is the part that fits over your arm. So make sure that part fits and then use the same scale on the lower forearm.

Everyone, there is something serious going on here. A friend of mine might have had his Iron Man suit recasted. He made a post here with his findings:

Please go and see for yourself and post your comments about your opinion.

Thanks

If I changed the helmet height to 252mm. would that be a Better fit for smaller/average heads? cause 262mm is too big...

I would talk scale rather than height... maybe width would be ok to.

If you have a head circumference between 22-23inches then you should use the scale around .94-.95 just to give you an idea. Definitely print up the tester helmet first. I went through 3 testers before I settled on a scale for my helmet.
