I don't seem to notice the difference much between the Mark VI and VII's helmet (aside from the way it assembles of course), only thing I see are the two screw marks on the faceplate of the Mark VII which aren't present in the VI. Anything else?

What screw marks are you referring to?

The whole helmet is slightly different, the edges and corners are slightly more rounded but the biggest differences are the chin detail (including a angular cut on the gold part that wraps around the jaw) and the vent at the top of the helmet is much wider.

Seriously? You guys dont see all the differences?

There's ALOT.

Speaking Personally, I've Forensicly Examined All the suits... of course, I'm a designer, that's what we do. I love the differences of all the suits, how nothing is the same from 1 to the next. (Glove, Helmet, and Boot excluded... lol)

Try some Google Searches for the suits and their photos. Study the movies.

You Should be able to notice all the Extreme and Subtle Differences.

I'm not a designer, I just have a lot of free time, even at my job, so I could find some big differences between the suits. The Mk 7 is a lot more rounded than the others, and it has different shapes like the flaps, chest piece, cod, everything, even the helmet, which is almost the same shape as the others, but more rounded.

By the way, I was supposed to start working on my mk 7 yesterday, but i couldn't, anyway, thanks A LOT to darkside501st, because his pep files are just amazing.

Mark II and Mark III, no differences, one is silver or chrome and the other is red with gold

Mark IV and VI is the same thing... but in the Mark VI has a change, the arc reactor is a triangle, in the Mark IV the reactor is a classic circle. By the way.. the color in the Mark VI is diferrent compared the Mark IV... look the biceps and legs.. is gold and silver.

The Mark V is completely different of all.

Mark VII..... Well, is the armor with more changes since first movie of Iron Man... now the Mark XLVII of Iron Man 3 win that place.

the boots change in Mark VII... the gloves not changed even in the Mark XLVII

Yes, I am still working on the Mark VII version 2... I have had some extra time to work on it this week so I have made some more progress but I am not going to give a date cause some people might get upset if it doesn't happen by then.

I would love to make the MK VIII too. We will see if I can manage it before someone else gets to it. Still not too fond of the color scheme but there are a bunch of pics and video of it so I wont have a hard time modeling it like I did with the Mk VII.

My initial goal was to build Darksides markVII v1 files....but i changed my mind...

...i'm building markVI (triangle arc reactor - threath will be open).
When Darkside release v2 files i will build the suit because i suspect that those v2 files will be surreal... :eek

In the meanwhile i will be making the mark VI....but in the end i hope to have two "enormous" Iron Man suit's. :love



Darkside do you need some help....even with mark VIII modeling....give me a call... opcorn

You could always add your OWN textures, and make it whatever color you want.

Of course, and I think that would be even more popular if the costume were easier to make. Take a look at all the custom Mando armor out there. This could be the thing that spurs custom Iron Man Armor since many people don't like the colors on the movie suit.

The screw marks I'm talking about are on the top edges of the front of the faceplate (those two rectangular surfaces that sandwich the v-section), but I may be mistaken.

I've been looking at some pics and I see there is a difference in the v-section and a more rounded jaw. However, these are on the busts and models, and I have heard that the CGI Mark VII's helmet has little if not no difference to the Mark VI. I'm still researching about the topic, but that's what I got so far

I was using the word 'spurs' instead of a word like 'starts' but it basically means the same thing. Mando armor is from Star Wars. It is a short version of the word Mandalorian which is the race of people that Boba Fett and Jengo Fett came from. So the classic armor that they wore in the movies has gone through a lot of different paint schemes and customization among fans. Check out the Mandalorian Mercs.

Darkside501st, thanks for creating these files. I started on my Mk VII last night. Complex simplicity is the best way to describe building these things. I started out with the hand guard. Looks "ok" but not up to par with how I want it to look. Now that I know I need a steadier hand, this is gonna only get better with time. I know now that the helmet is going to be my last "piece" I build.

these files are awsome darkside ive pepped a few parts and resined a few aswell as im building an iron man mk 6 i will have a thread started as soon as posible with plenty of piks for yas all thanks for the mk 7 files darkside aand id like to thank robo for the mk 6 files theyve both come out awsome and zabana for the hands and feet cant wait for the mk 7 v2 files

I have not seen a lot of custom paint colors on fullsize Iron Man costumes. I saw a contest where they repainted the hot toys iron man guys and there were some pretty cool alternate paint colors there. But that is what I was saying is that since many people don't like the colors of the Mk VIII maybe they will paint it with custom colors.

Didn't make a V1 neck... one of the other members made one and posted a link a few pages back. It might need to be modified.

I have always recommended using the Mk VI neck made by Robo3687. It is very similar and any differences can be modified into the design after it is built. You might find that it fits better with the rest of the suit too.

i made the model available a few pages back, also built in foam, it needs some modification when finished to fit perfectly, but overall, it works, and lines up with the spine parts of the back perfectly when worn.
