Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

For now, I saw let everyone speculate how they want and save judgement for until either we see the movie or we see one of the action figures of it labeled whatever it actually is.
I stand by it's a twist on Detriot Steel, but that's just me. One thing that I'm sure we can all agree on is that it's definitely a Hammer design.

Anyway, let's get back to the reason for this thread. The Mk VII.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

Gonna be using these files for my next build, can't wait. Also can't wait to get a craftrobo to help cut out all the pieces lol

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

I am trying to scale the MK VII armor pep files, and I can't get it right! Can any one help me with tips? Is there anyone out there thats 6'2 and medium build that have already found numbers for the right scaling? This would help a lot!

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

Hi guys, i'm currently making a foam MKVII suit with the incredible files from this thread but I do have some difficulties with the back files.
Am I the only one who think they are pretty hard to "read" ? :lol

All the blue lines and the files looks a bit confusing to me.
Does some one have a cleaner version of the back ?
Otherwise I think I would have to try to get my hands on the current one

Mine's turning out fine. Try Cardstock instead of Foam.

I thought the same thing. I would do card stock but it takes to long, and I don't like using resin. A cleaner file would be great!

Does anyone have a neck file for this build? I noticed it is different from the other iron man suits.

Anyway, let's get back to the reason for this thread. The Mk VII.

Hey guys, It has been a little while since I checked in. I see you guys found something to talk about. :lol But let's please let's stay on topic. I don't want this thread to become very difficult to find information for those who are new to the thread.

I love the progress pictures and everyone is doing a great job.

If you want it for Halloween then your only hope is a foam build... it has taken people a year or more to build a pepakura suit.

Does anyone have a neck file for this build? I noticed it is different from the other iron man suits.

I would use the Mark VI neck file... it is close enough. I'm sorry I didn't get around to making the Mk VII neck but the new reference materials came out and I thought I would just start again and make a version 2.

The version 2 is coming along... the hardest part is the fact that the suit wasn't actually designed to fit over a person... it is all CGI though all the scenes. There are several areas, mainly in the joints, where to get the exact look I don't think there is enough room for the hinges and a persons arm or leg. So if I make the suit exact then it might not fit. Anyways, it is just one of those things.

I will check back again tomorrow so if anyone has any other questions about the suit then ask away and I will answer tomorrow.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

Thank you Darkside. Great to know you are still alive. Cant wait to see more of your awesome work with version 2.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

Hey I'm building an iron lantern from your mark 7 . I love it can you tell me where to get the foam version for the chest because mine comes out as the pepkura version.

I started with the Spine, then the Neck-Collar-Pillar things, and on down.

I didnt do any of the intricate details, the minute (small) folds and things. I will add that stuff with bondo, just way too dificult to do in Cardstock.

Fits pretty good, too.

Yeah, I am thinking the same thing... it looks a little small. Nice work on the build though.
