Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - Password in First Post

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

hey Darkside I spotted a continuity error in your V2 model but I don't know how to past the pics to this post, so I can't show you... but it's be twine the shoulder pods and the chest... the part in question is supposed to stop paralleled with the side of the shoulder pods and not go all the way out to the sides... hope my description helps

I think you are talking about the actual back. The shoulder pods are part of the jetpack that sit on top of the back. The back does extend past the shoulder pods. I have many reference images that depict this. If that is what you are talking about then I would like to see the pic. You can upload images directly to the forum when you make a post. Look under the text box when you write your response. Here is one image from my skydrive. You can click around through the rest and see the same thing in most if not all of them. I do appreciate the second pair of eyes. It is possible for me to miss something but I do know this suit pretty good by now. lol

I don't know if I did this right, but if I did then the green line's follow the models and the blue is where the edge of that part is on your V2 file hope it helps

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

So started making this awesome helmet out of 300g paper. It is turning up pretty nice.

I have a few suggestions to the ones that are thinking to make this. Use 200g paper. There are areas that you have to put up 3 layers and it becomes very hard to fold.

I strongly suggest to start from the eyes. It will make the process of making the face plate a lot easier.

Putting the black part around the mouth was very hard for me :(

I glued the Jaw. But i have one question, It maybe because of using 300g paper, the piece that comes from back of the helmet to your forehead get very thick with all the folding and now it is almost impossible to put the face plate in there.

The face plate proportions are correct but the it doesn't have the right curves without putting it in place. Shape is important before applying resin.

You need to use MINI BINDING CLIPS to get the faceplate in. It's really supposed to be hard to put the faceplate in so don't worry. Just clip one side while you're gluing the other side, then after gluing clip the glued sides and proceed to the next side. Leave it for about an entire day to dry then you can remove the clips

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

It could be because of the thickness of the cardstock... you can remove the edging on the tight spots on the helmet and faceplate and that will give you a little more room.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - New Pics pg 100!!

It really depends on the size of your head not your height. What's your head circumference?

my head circumference is 23.5 inches, if 23 is .95 will .96 or .97 will do. thanks and keep up the good work guys.

Build the tester helmet in a .95 or a .96 or both and see which one you like better.

ProjectEarth's helmet was scaled at .94 and is for a maximum of 23 inch head circumference. Maybe you could base it on that. So .95 or .96 is a good estimate. I'm pretty sure .96 would fit you well, but I'm not sure if it will look good (it might look a little big) .95 could be too small but if it fits, then I'd say it would be a better choice than the .96.
