Re: Darkside501st's Wolverine Claws - March closed, post interest for next run

Ok everyone, let me know if you guys want me to make The Wolverine Claws:

Personally, I am having a hard time getting over the fact that they changed the claws but... part of me wants to make them anyways. They will probably be a lot more comfortable than the previous design which might be why they changed it in the first place.

Hmmmm have to say I would like a set of the new ones for the completist in me

Re: Darkside501st's Wolverine Claws - March closed, post interest for next run

i like the changes to the claws them selfs but i dont like the non over lap look at the knuckles

Re: Darkside501st's Wolverine Claws - March closed, post interest for next run

As I stated in the 'Wolverine All Day Baby!' thread I have seen his claws in several different positions (coming out of his hands in different spots) so I think I am going to make these but I will do a bit of a compromise and pick a spot that is not quite overlapping but yet still gives that impression as opposed to the between the fingers look.

Re: Darkside501st's Wolverine Claws - March closed, post interest for next run

I added a pic of the grips on the first post as well as a link to a new video on Maintenance Tips to help keep your claws looking and working like new.

Thanks so much for that post. Most people don't bother to stop back by and give any feedback. I am glad you like them. It is cool that everyone was freaking out over them.

Sabretooth claws... you did see my other thread then, right? Just made the Wolverine bone claws... Sabretooth claws are next. Keep an eye on that thread.

Re: Darkside501st's Wolverine Claws - March closed, post interest for next run

I built mine last night. It took me some time to get the fit right, because I have small and weird hands apparently ;) These claws are the best available for smaller people and also very affordable. Thanks!

I'm really interested in a pair

Re: Darkside501st's Wolverine Claws - March closed, post interest for next run

Hey guys, I have been working on some 'The Wolverine' claws. I pulled as many hi-res pics as I could find and as we all know not all the shots involve physical claws... some of it is CGI. Which is probably why they always look like they are coming out of his hands in a different spot. So I kind of took the average of what I saw and built my claws on that. I also think I know why they don't 'wrap' over his knuckles... because the top of the blade is sharp too. Which makes sense cause from what I know of Wolverine he can cut through anything no matter which way he swings his claws. Anyways, my claws need a little more sanding to be perfect but I think it is pretty good so far. Let me know what you think. Here are some WIP pics:

To be honest, I've always assumed that his claws had no consistent place to emerge, simply because it would depend on the position of his hand when he extended them. Kind of like, if he had his hand bent at a 90 degree angle at the wrist, then they'd extend from the top of his hand, but, for them to lock in position between his knuckles, his hand would have to be straight. That's explain the inconsistencies of the claws at the knuckle area. Sometimes he just had his hand flexed a little more when he deployed them.

...& since this is a FS thread, let me add that it's killing me waiting on the next run.:thumbsup

Thanks guys. Glad you all approve.

@ Usagi Pilgrim - I have to say that I have also thought of that on more than one occasion but I try not to strain my brain on stuff like that. ;)

I just have to make some molds and then I will be doing another run. I want to get you guys some 'The Wolverine' claws for the premiere. Also, I will be giving a discount to any and all of my previous customers that want to invest in another set of claws whether it would be the new 'The Wolverine' claws, the Wolverine bone claws I am doing, or both. I will post more info about that later.
