DareDevil's Billy Clubs (grapples)

Hey all,

I am planning on making a grapple like this one:

That retracts.

I plan on making the main section out of 11inches of ~400mm PVC piping and would probably want to make the claws out of plastic or wood painted to look like metal.

Does anyone have any ideas how i can make/buy this mechanism?

Getting them to pop open is pretty easy. The trick is the automatic retraction, especially with the same button. I have a thought watching it a second time. I need to sketch it out and see if it makes sense.
