Awww, sorry to assault your wallet!

Yes, the end caps and the center steel bar (basically everything metal looking) will be cast with aluminum powder, and then screw/fit into the red portions which will be regular resin. At least, that's the plan at the moment ;)

interested, this might sound weird but is it possible to get them in metal? I

train in Escrima and would love to use these as training fighting sticks. I know it sounds ridiculous but wanted to ask.

We're not really comfortable making actual weapons (although we're fully aware solid resin batons will still smart if they hit ya!), and even if we were, we don't really have the capabilities. If you're really interested we could possibly try and order a full metal pair through Shapeways but given the size of the prints you'd probably be looking at 3x or 4x times as much as a normal pair...

Do you have any photos of previous pieces you've manufactured? Anything to gauge the caliber of your work? You mentioned running a prop shop. Your facebook page shows a little bit of resin...that it?

I recommend you get a prototype together before taking orders. Being your first run here and all that...

Hey, Rylo! Thanks for the questions. Totally understand your concerns. :) I won't lie, compared to some of the rest of you master artisans we're relatively new to the prop game (only been doing it about six years, and only working as a business since late 2013). However, we've worked with a wide variety of materials before, from eva foam and wood to resin and metal. Believe me, I wouldn't post here if I wasn't confident in our abilities to pull off a project like this. I went ahead and attached a couple photos of some of our previous work so you (and anyone else interested) can assess our capabilities for themselves. I know our portfolio is nothing compared to amazing craftsmanship such as yourself (really, sir, incredible work in your sig!), but... maybe it will at least show we're not just planning to take people's money and run?

Speaking of which, like I said in the OP, this is just an interest thread, to see if there's even enough people interested in a pair to make it worth building the master and casting copies (I assumed this was all an Interest thread was supposed to be for, but I am new here, so if I am doing something wrong it'd be great if someone could correct me! :) ). Rest assured that we aren't going to ask for or accept a dime of anyone's money until we have a functioning prototype-- we want every one of our clients to know exactly what they are getting! That said, we know we have no real reputation here on the forums, so if anyone isn't confident in either us as a seller or our abilities as prop builders, we totally understand and won't take offense. In fact, if you're feeling skeptical, we'd prefer you just err on the side of caution. :) Can never be too careful these days, right?

Impressive work JJ! The ICER gun from Agents of Shield looks sick!

Leave my name up there, I'm definitely interested.

Have you decided on an overall length for the Billy club? They appear to be shorter than the stick batons he used before that. Just curious as to what you settled on.

Haven't decided yet but yeah, they are definitely on the short side. We are gonna try and get a screencap of him standing upright, then using Charlie Cox's actual height (5'10") determine how long each one is proportionally. I wasn't lying when I said we were going to try to accuracy as much as possible! At least, that's the plan at the moment. :)

I'm interested in a finished set of billy clubs and a finished holster. With express shipping. Can you have them to me by mid July at the latest?

That should be doable, once we have a prototype molded and casted and open pre-orders I would definitely get in on the first run since we'll be shipping them in the order we receive payment.
