HAPPY DANCE :D

after yrs of bidding on Ebay for a Coyle p2, and outbid everytime.
i finally got one ... :p

its an early model for a low price. :)

i tried to get one like it a few months back on Ebay titled as Star Trek phaser only,

i verified it with Rich :thumbsup

for 4 days no one bid on it then on the last day i pulled up the auction and saw the name Coyle added to the title. :thumbsdown

my heart fell.

the seller added that some one had contacted him and told him it was by Richard Coyle and a breif history.

next day there were a dozen bids. :angry

i got it with 18 seconds left. ;)

ohhh yeah baby.

this will be the icon of my 12 different Tos p2's

now how do i tell the wife,
how bout i give it to her for Xmas. :angel

thanks Rich for iding this one also for me.

:cry There should be a crime against sellers being so clueless... Selling right before Christmas, no reserve, no knowledge of its value... Criminal, I say.

Congrats on your score. Almost as cool as my DUNE score. :D

Congrats.. Looks like the saying,"good things come to those who wait," IS true. :)

Thanks Rich,

i certanly will:D

in my humble opinion,  even though the early ones were off some they still represent  the best avaliable at the time with the recources avaliable. a true collectible :)
a treasure to the art of a Trek propmaker who has continues to the precise model you make today.    hows that for a kiss up. :p

but the hunt for Tos trek phasers is what brought me to ebay 6 yrs ago .

i still have my first p2 which came from Starfleet Enterprises i think in 76.

and through this board i have increased my phasers up to the MR i now have. :thumbsup

but ever phaser fan always wants a Coyle.

and now i gots one { unless the seller contacts me and says his shop burnt to the ground before he got to ship it} :lol

Regretably i had to sell my Coyle PKD last year.

ok guys, go blow your noses and wipe your eyes after that happy rant of mine.  :angel

You got an unbelievable deal. In my experience, those usually go for $300 to $500...and more.

thanks everone :D

and Phil, yep the last one i mentioned went from $75 to over $300 when it was identified as a Coyle.

all us phaser heads know what the later digital models bring. :)

Richards name is well know by Ebay watchers,

and my MR would leave this house before this one. :p

now to get this baby home. :)

I put mine up on eBay acouple of years ago with a starting bid of 200, it never sold. Can't say I regret having it. The red button Coyle is still a great piece.

after 4 weeks i finally got it in my hands.

the paint was cracked some so i lightly sanded and added a normal grey paint job.

a great piece.

<sigh>

The sweetness of victory on eBay curtailed by the trepidation for the act of confession. :(

Hey John, nice Coyle prop you got there. :D

I've got a similar story to share - hope you don't mind the temporary hijack:
