D.C.'s The Flash (tv series)

So they have come out and said that the entire first season is an alternate timeline. I have to wonder how this is going to affect the show. Could this make it hard for people that don't know anything about the Flash except what they see in the show hard to follow? Also if it is an alternate time line, it went along with the Arrow time line, so that means that Arrow is also in an alternate universe. I could see this getting convoluted.

We already knew it was an alternate time li e the moment we learned thawne was responsible for creating the flash in this time line.
But the main reason is so they can keep tv verse and movie verse separate without having to try to tie everything together.

It's a show where a particle accelerator exploding gave various people superhuman powers, such as the ability to turn into gas, shoot lasers from their eyes, and run at speeds in excess of Mach 2...

Why is everyone so hung up on the time travel stuff? Seems like a very small piece of a very large puzzle, that they'll surely explain better in season 2...

It's simple, really. The superpowers thing we accept as a function of the superhero genre. It's the equivalent of saying "Because they can use the Force" in the Star Wars series. But time travel is, like, actually something that real-world science can and has comprehended (or tried to, anyway). So, audience members get hung up on the ONE THING that could MAYBE be explained by science, whereas everything else is essentially accepted as "magic" of a sort.

Here's a new image to whet your appetites and inspire the cosplayer within...

Eh, what the hell. I'll let the wheels turn...

Barry2 returns to timeline 2 and Eobard1 realizes he isn't getting back to timeline 1.
Eddie2 shooting himself shouldn't have affected Eobard1 because he is from a different timeline. Eddie2 only stopped the birth of Eobard2.

see , i see it differrently ,
all eddie had to do was go get SNIPPED and Eobard 1 would just vanish ...but then he prefered to die for a character who does nothing but be a total *CENSORED* .
brotha coulda lived but chose to end it .

cant wait to see FROST versus GLIDER ( hopiing in season the season 2 finale ) :love

He should have played Hawkman. :lol

Cool costume. I don't know why they're so adamantly avoiding bright red though.

Or yellow in more than detailing. Where's the big yellow lightning bolt? And what about Barry's boots? Subdued colors don't make it look more realistic, just visually boring.

I believe they left out the "brightness" of the suits due to the "darker" undertone of the series. From the camera perspective, using bright colors are also a nono in this day where we can just use post to edit the footage and make it as bright or dark as possible :)

Side note, I dig the wardrobe Jay Garrick has, but at the same time I wish it stayed intune with the "timeline" of the 40's/50's era...but i think that costume is a bit bright and would maybe throw the audience off? Iono, im just being hopeful that he will at least have Hermes wings :D
we shall see tonight when it airs over here :popcorn:cheers

Sooo.. just pointing out that they used the season 1 pic with the old suit and older mask for a season 2 poster, when his mask has changed as well as other things.
They did photoshop the gloves, which I give them credit for haha... Just sharing information

They still use the old cowl design in all the CG shots as well. Not surprised they'd reuse it in promos.

Not surprised either... most promo departments reuse alot of stuff over and over again. If you look close, a few of the lightening bolts are copy & pasted as well!

season 2 came back with a bang last night. at first I thought that they pulled a smallville on us, but then I remembered that the budget for this show also got a boost...and so glad they didn't cop out on the singularity story. the rest of the story was fun as well.

is atom smasher a flash villain? at first I thought it was bane....

The only thing I didn't get.....if wells was erased from history, how come things didn't revert to an alternate universe?

Yeah that kinda bothered me too... when Adam took his life, and Wells/Anti-Flash was erased, then his mother should still be alive, his father never would have gone to jail, and he really wouldn't have any powers because Wells was the reason why the reactor blew up to give out all the powers in the first place. SOOOOOooo.. either something else has happened to preserve the current timeline, or Wells really isn't dead and only pretended to vanish when Adam shot himself. That's the only way I can see things happening to preserve the current timeline. Perhaps Adam wasn't his father/grandfather afterall... I'm wondering if the computer from the future is still there too and perhaps Barry is his father which is why he always tried to help him and protected him just enough.

The way i figure it the singularity at the end of S1 was the timeline asserting itself into the fact that Fake Wells never existed. They prevented their timeline from collapsing. I think there is still an alternate timeline split and that's where this Atom Smasher came from.
