D.C.'s The Flash (tv series)

Still the obvious solution, what meta human isn't a result of the particle accelerator? ;)

That squee was a good change from how damn dusty it was in here when Barry went back in time.
 
Not entirely sure how the spoiler tag stuff works, so I'll just tag it. Just my thoughts on tonight's episode.

I think it was one hell of a season finale!

I absolutely love Tom Cavanagh as it is, but his performance in tonights episode was absolutely phenominal. He really stood out to me, which says something among the fantastic cast. They all did really great jobs tonight.

Jay Garrick's helmet??? "What's that?" ... "That's my cue to leave." It was perfect!

They did a lot of things right tonight. Almost all of them covered above, but I will say that Arrow really needs to take a page out of The Flash's book. I felt like the season finale of Arrow, and the whole season in general was very underwhelming.

Flash's season finale on the other hand answered enough questions to give us closure, left enough unanswered for us to want more, and icing on the cake was that great cliffhanger.
 
Side note, am I the only one really over the "My name is X, blah blah blah blah" intros?

I really wanna see the smallville style opening make a return in the superhero shows.

Could someone explain to me why the reverse flash fears Jay Garrick but not Barry Allen?
 
The intro might seem redundant but I remember reading it being in line with the comics and that it's based on Mark Waid's approach and his self-imposed rules about letting a reader know the character asap.

Good finale with a solid cliffhanger. So many possibilities including Cisco's powers.

Now though lot of Barry's own reasoning makes sense in terms of not losing the current family he grew up with and how Dr. Stein suggested it will be changing 15 years of compound experiences and decisions. But as Cisco mentioned they are already in a parallel universe (cause of Eobard's arrival and actions I am guessing)

Of course it's not confirmed if Future Barry's past involved a life with his mother being alive. But since Eobard Thawne altered that original timeline, wasn't it worth restoring back?

When Future Barry stopped Barry from interfering, I thought he meant to stall him so he can take Kid Barry outside first. But Barry let Eobard kill his mother anyways.

So I guess Future Barry knew that his mother had to die in order for things to fall in place leading up to him being Flash. And perhaps that is what Barry realized when Future Barry stopped him.

This will be so exciting. It's going to be like some of my favourite episodes of Fringe.

Ok, so the Flash time travels by running fast he takes the place of that 'times' Flash but if he uses a wormhole then there can be multiple versions.

Is the unstable wormhole and blackhole a result of the paradox and the universe is trying to self-correct?
 
Why did they say he had never ran faster than mach2 before? Didn't he already run fast enough to break the time barrier?
 
They had to say something.... and the writers picked Mach 2..... not as if they said ludicrous speed.

OK so I guess the wormhole opened back up because Eddy killed himself and erased Eobard. Because if Eobard is not born, he does not become the Reverse Flash, He does not kill Nora, Barry does not become the Flash. Is anybody else on board with this line of thinking?
 
Could be. But I don't know if Nora being dead is the real catalyst for Barry to become Flash or whether Eobard is even crucial for Barry to become Flash in the original timeline.

In the original timeline, isn't it possible that Barry became Flash only cause of the lightning with chemicals and kept his identity a secret all the way into the future. And then Eobard discovered Barry as Flash and decided to travel back in time.
 
I have to say I wasn't super onboard with this show in the beginning. But like Agents of SHIELD I stuck it out and it is paying off large dividends. That finale was fantastic. Much better than Arrow at this point, and right there with AoS (only because I'm a Marvel fanboy :))

But the problem we now have is, none of the meta-humans ought to exist. Now that Eddie is dead, meaning Eobard is dead, meaning Eobard couldn't have come back in time and killed the original Wells, meaning the accelerator never exploded... so how is the show continuing? Unless regular Wells also blew up the accelerator, which seems far fetched, what's really going on?

My take wasn't that you had to run mach 2 to break the time barrier, it was that you had to run mach 2 to get the entire timeline to open up to you so that you could go wherever you wanted. The first time it was an accident and Barry just skipped back a day.
 
Barry got his powers in the original timeline somehow, Thawne just accelerated the process. Who knows if other metas existed in the original timeline.

Taking it a step further, with Eddie now dead there's no Eobard to come back so Eddie has no reason to kill himself so why does Eddie kill himself? It's the same paradox that every single time travel story that involves changing the timeline runs into. The easy hand wave for the show is "speed force." Possibly the black hole is the universe reacting to the paradox created.

I just thought of this, when Barry goes back in time the first time and talks to Wells/Eobard. You can tell Eobard is very distraught and he did say (and I'm paraphrasing) that time finds a way to correct itself.
