If anyone was interested, My Cyberman was a big hit at Gallifrey one the north american who convention, here was the skit I was in with 2 other cybermen from different eras. Check it out, pretty clever if I do say so myself.

I still need to try this. I have a few questions though:
Are the images you posted exact size? Print them on 8.5 x 11?
Did you make it out of the same "harbor freight" foam? (parts look like it might be made of a thinner foam)
What did you use as the rivits? (They almost look like the push in letter sealer things you bend the points on)
I'm guessing the piping is just PVC and appropriate joints?

As far as working on the Cybershade test, which i know i said i would try my hand at ..but :unsure ive decided that i would rather just punch ahead with my own cyberman patterns. So ive finally worked up my upper left arm and luckily i have found that i can make this part out of only a single sheet of the foam which i had originally planned on it taking two sheets. I still need to seat the dowel rod in place but over all it looks good i think.

Are these staying on your arm just by friction or will you strap them once you get further along?

My plan is to strap them with a stretch material, but to answer your question YES they are staying on my arm because of friction. I designed them with enough room for an undersuit to fit snug under. which once i am ready for that i should be able to slide these parts over with little to no problem.

Did you get a pattern book for this? I'd be willing to buy them so I can retro-fit my kid's cyberman costume. I've only done the one build and I have pics here somewhere. I need to redo the chest/back and arms. Then I will add steampunk features. Any help/tips/info greatly appreciated!

Sadly I can't release my patterns yet. They are a mess and I need to include instructions. I posted a test earlier in the thread (the cybershade mask) and no one stepped up to the challenge, so I suspect my patterns require a translator (instructions) to use. Until I can find the time to create this and revise the patterns they will remain unpublished...sorry.cry:cry

The more I think about how you did the piping under suit, the more I want to go that route so I am not sweating to death under my latex panels. The cloth you use as a base looks like felt like material. Any feedback on the material you can give? I am pretty much to the point I need to start getting my undersuit panels done since my upper body is basically done.
Also, neck area. between chest and helmet, did you copy the cyberman eventually? If so, did you use foam sheets for that or go a different route? I am still trying to figure out best way to get that made and look good under normal convention wear and tear.
