Custom Daredevil Build (pic heavy, Fabric layout for chest finished)

Hey guys! I started a new Daredevil project that I plan on finishing for Comic Con this year and I decided to post it here now that I have somewhat of a start on this already. I decided that I loved the tactical look of the Netflix show and decided to implement that into the base idea of the cosplay, however, at the same time I really wanted to stay true to the comics. So while I was designing this i tried to find a good balance between the two and went with that. Without further ado...here is the design.

So next up i started looking up some of the things that I could get online. So I ended up buying 2 rolls of foam, a utility/tactical belt, and my tactical gloves. The tactical belt arrived today and I finished the rig on that for the billy clubs. I haven't yet made the holster for them but all things in good time. The gloves and the foam should be arriving tomorrow. Here is a picture of the belt. I apologize in advance for the white pants but the belt wouldn't show up on my super dark jeans:lol.

Next up is making the armor and getting the fabric to do the rest of the outfit

Hope to post again soon!

Re: STARLORD's Custom Daredevil Build (new changes!)

So my gloves arrived. They are the FreeToo Mens tactical gloves.

After seeing how they looked I decided I wanted to paint them to match my outfit, so I painted a base of chrome with a brushing of metallic red.

I am very pleased with the overall look of the gloves. The red is pretty shy but I actually prefer it that way!

I also painted the belt buckle with the same metallic red, unfortunately the camera didn't pick up the metallic effect very well.

Like I said the buckle is in fact a candy apple red metallic color the flash just eliminated the metallic look.

Okay, so I have done a lot of work on the billy clubs as well as the holster. I made the billy clubs using brass plumbing bar and a couple do dads, keep in mind I still have to find some pieces for the "blank" club.

The holster still needs one more coat of plasti dip and it also needs to be attached to the belt.

I have also finished the cowl. I modified a Captain America helmet pep file an came up with the lens design as well as the horn design, I then used two coats of plasti dip, one coat of rustoleum red spray paint and then added black shoe polish for a slight weathering effect ( the pictures go in chronological order)

I also found a ski mask to wear under this.

I also got my fabric/ I will post more pictures later

Re: STARLORD's Custom Daredevil Build (pic heavy, Fabric layout for chest finished)

I started cutting out the fabric in preparation for sewing. I have finished the chest shoulders and sleeves. I still have to make the back and pants. Thus far I have followed my design to the tee and I am loving the outcome so far!

(Also, I have no clue what to do for the D's, any suggestion!)

Sorry for the super long delay on this project. I did finish in time for comic con. I have some pictures of the completed outfit. Overall, minus a few cosplay malfunctions, i was very happy with the end result! Lemme know whatcha think!

The picture on the right was before I was finished with the outfit before comic con.
Thats all I got for now!

I'm almost 4 years late, but this was a great project!
My own DD build is about to start coming together, I came seeking wisdom for how to attach lenses.

Working on one myself currently. Had a few items lost in main recently unfortunately.

What type of lenses are you trying to use?

I have 3 items in mind, and I'm working out which will work best. First off is a thin red "gel" for theater lighting, that can simply be glued around the edges.

Secondly is I found someone on Etsy that makes stormtrooped, and Vader lenses, paid him for some custom lenses. Yet to arrive, so not sure how/if they will work.

Lastly, and the viable option in my opinion currently is small sections of copper screen, or vinyl screen painted in the red I want, and glued around the edges on the inside of the cowl.

The lighting gel is probably the simplest thing to use. If you want a more durable material, get a clear polycarbonate face shield and red headlight tint. Both are really cheap on Amazon. I used those to make red lenses for a couple of other helmets.
