Custom Coffee Table from "Talking Dead"

My entire family are huge fans of The Walking Dead. We all watch the show together and then stay up for "Talking Dead".
Here is a custom built replica of the long style coffee table used on the set of the show - there is also a shorter version they use some episodes when they only have two guests and a shorter couch but I haven't seen that setup used in a while.

This replica was hand crafted by my father Michael. The wood was carved to match the natural look of the screen-used table, which appears to be raw planks of reclaimed wood. We started out with clean pieces of Pine and slowly worked it to match all the natural cuts, dings and knots that the original has.
Admittedly, this replica was made a lot "nicer" than the real thing. It may look all beat up but is actually quite smooth and gorgeously finished.

The legs are welded metal and the centerpiece was hand carved and the baby doll hands added. This is a one of a kind piece and was a real labor of love. Probably going to put this up on ebay sometime in the future but wanted to show it off and see what fellow fans think!

Its been a few years but when I was there I recall the legs being vintage car jack stands. The artsy types adopted it from an old tv set cheat using them to make on the fly height adjustable tables and chairs.

wow, that's obscure. but at least it's a functional piece of furniture and should sell well on ebay. i admit your title had me confused Walking Dead? Talking Heads?

That looks great. I love the look of worn wood (real or crafted that way). What was the finish used?

Boy, Kevin Smith and Chris Hardwick in the same place at the same time...how did that not create some sort of vortex of obnoxiousness, sucking the whole universe into it?
