Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning: Self-destructing Microcassette

Hello Everyone

I would like to recreate the Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning self-destructing device that provides the mission brief.
Here are some images from fancaps.net

I've reached a dead end in my research, it looks very similar to the National RN-Z04/Panasonic RN-004.
However, there are some differences. Obviously it has a sticker with a generic name, that can easily be recreated.
But I can't find a microcassette with the speed switch on the front, the placement of switches at the stop, a combination of black and silver.

A bonus would be to find the MC90 microcassette that was used

It's currently on display at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens atm! Here a shot I took of it :D

I do think they used the National Panasonic RQ-180
The logo is onto two lines, which they seemed to have covered with a sticker?

Wow, you've got it! Thank you so much for searching!

Now time for me to try find one :)
You're welcome, it took me a few hours but your screenshots were really helpful.

There is one on Ebay but it needs to be cleaned up.
I found one in Japan for 10 bucks, clean but probably not functional. I bought it via Buyee, a proxy service. I will share pics when I'll get it.

Amazing! Thanks for sharing. Do you have more pics of this exhibition? Do they sell a catalog?
We should be able to reproduce the sticker. They probably use it to mask the Panasonic brand so they don't have to pay royalties.

Yeah, it's more likely why they covered it, wouldn't be surprised if they did that to the microcassette too. Looks a lot like the RT-60MC design from Panasonic, maybe they made a M-90 and got rid of the Panasonic logo altogether.

It is a temporary exhibition, so don't think they had a catalogue! But they did have some nice pieces:

Looks like it stays up until December if you ever go around NY

Good job finding out what the ref of the microcassette.

I am also wondering if the device they used for the book is a real device or if this is 100% a prop.

So I have identified it a while back, and I believe it to be a Kudelski Nagra SN Silver tape recorder.
These come a little bit on the pricey side, so never bought one.

Not entirely sure for the right side of the book, could be a camera of some sort. But I do think these are individual bits added rather than a full item like the tape recorder.
