Cubone Deadpool Build.

Re: Deadpool Mask is at Ver. 1.1! Page 2 (1/28/13)

Wow man this is really in depth! I'm extremely excited for the end result! All the power to you! this is going to be awesome!

I hope I don't disappoint! :)

So I got my patterns for the red and black fabric printed. I was going to do 36" drafting paper from my school. But they charged 6$ a linear foot...and I needed 6 feet. Good thing I didn't either..cause the bigger file had a buffering problem and drafted wrong. So what I did do...was print 60 pieces of paper with cut marks >.< So now tomorrow I get to cut and tape all the pieces together to form my patterns. But a WHOLE lot cheaper for sure. For the money it would have cost to draft 3 poster size patterns...I could have just bought a sub-dye suit

I also did a test of some puffy paint seams. I'll take a picture tomorrow once it is all dry. I'm hoping to get the mask/hood completely done, cast a belt buckle, and start cutting out my fabric for my suit. I'm getting giggly cause I'm close to having something to show! OH! And I also have an idea for a neck collar. So I should have that done this weekend as well.

Here's to good times! :popcorn

Re: Deadpool Mask is at Ver. 1.1! Page 2 (1/28/13)

SO I got bored and was playing around with my mask again. I think I got the placement of the fabric so you can't see the line by my mouth. Also I threw on a underarmor shirt so you can see kind of what my body type is. I'm not perfect but I'm getting there :p

Re: Deadpool Mask is at Ver. 1.1! Page 2 (1/28/13)

Great idea!
I have a silicon or latex Deadpool mask I bought on ebay, but I am afraid that if I put it on I will suffocate.

I was going to try something similar , but instead of casting in latex I was going to use plastic resin.Happy I did not wasting materials on that :facepalm

Latex is flexable and a much better material, and attaching it to a fabric hood was brilliant. Best way to get the rad eye patches , and breath.
Nice work. :thumbsup

Yeah I'm finding the parts of my face that are covered by the latex do tend to get a little toasty :lol That's one reason I removed the part of my latex that was under my chin. It was collecting sweat...ewww....

I know that you can do one that way. I just opted to go for the latex as 1) I had never used it before and I like a challenge. and 2) I figured it would give me a more organic look and it would react better to my face etc.

And thanks! I actually can't claim the idea for the fabric hood. I got it from a Halloween prop maker. They are called "sock masks." haha. And yeah I still have a couple little things to work out before I can call it "perfect" but I am definitely getting there!!!!!

Anyways I would say I have updates..but I'm currently on my college campus so none....yet :love I plan on getting down to business when I get home. I have a lot I want to get accomplished! And I have a Deadpool itch that needs to be scratched!

Re: Deadpool Mask is at Ver. 1.1! Page 2 (1/28/13)

Outstanding work! Deadpool was one of my favorite characters and I'm digging the mask! Thanks for the post and keep up the great work! Right now I'm working on The Dark Knight's helmet out of EVA Foam. Little tedious but worth it in the end.

Re: Deadpool Mask is at Ver. 1.1! Page 2 (1/28/13)

Great job on the mask! I think the fabric masks are fine for the slightly more "goofy" Deadpool costumes, but I think if you're going more for the "badass" look, this is perfect! Can't wait to see your progress on the suit.

He is my all time favorite comic book character hands down now haha. And I'm glad you stopped in, looked around and enjoyed! I'm hoping I can do the rest of the suit justice!

a TDK helmet? Nice! I'll have to check out your build if you have one posted up. I always enjoy watching EVA foam builds.

Thanks! And yeah I agree they do have their uses. I'm actually in the process of sculpting a let's call it "Silly Pool" face. a more comical and less serious looking under mask.

And as for progress on the suit..ask and you shall recieve! After 4 hours of cutting and taping..yes you read that right. The patterns were done! YAY!

Then..another 2 hours of pinning and cutting fabric. Done.

Then I pinned the black cut outs into their spaces for the arms and I started my attempt at my first sewing job on a suit. Ever. And..IT WORKED!

And I got one of the panels done on the main body as well as the toe caps.

So I should have this bad boy ready to start doing a final sew up tomorrow. Which reminds me..I need to buy a zipper...

Re: Deadpool Suit is Being Sewn! AH! Pg. 3!

Great job, can't wait to see the sewn suit.

Hey thanks that means a lot!

And I have been working on this a little bit...but due to arguments over counter space with the roommates....not a whole lot.

Once they leave I can try to knock out the rest of this!

Re: Deadpool Suit is Being Sewn! AH! Pg. 3!

Well Lunch Burrito break. I have 3/4 of the suit sewn...wow this is hard for someone who has no experience sewing lol....I have to go buy a zipper and install that and it should be all good to go! Post pictures later!

Oh good I'm glad someone is!

So after countless times of jabbing my finger...and lots of hours of frustration. I give you my first ever body suit sewn by me! YAY!

And here's some glamour shots.

But it is now bed time..haha.. But I'll try to get some full body shots tomorrow if my roommates will take pictures :lol

Looks Awesome, very impressive.

Thanks to you both! Honestly without feedback and encouragement from the community I would have quit a long time ago :p Your kind words mean a lot!

So I had a little dream about this suit last night....and I think I'm going to weather the fabric a little. Nothing huge. But just enough to make it look...well less out of the box. Like it would have actually been worn in the field. That's another thing about 99 percent of Deadpool costumes. They look like new factory ones. So I'm going to see if I can dirty mine up a bit :love

But this will put on hold for a little pending beer and sporting events today :love But I will probably put some more effort into it soon.

Updated list of objectives!
-Cast Pirate and Regular belt buckles
-Firmly attach mask material to mask.
-Weather whole suit
-Attach under-soles to feet
-Gloves
-Pouches/Harness and katana setup
-Mold and Cast "Silly Pool" Sculpt

Phew! Look for more updates coming to a thread post near you!

Re: Deadpool Suit is DONE! Ver 1.0!

oh that little game in which I have to stay up till 4am to watch my Ravens take home the crown ;)

I like the idea of weathering the suit! should look good..... under-soles? I take it you are not goin with boots then? ... what you thinkin for gloves? motorcycle style with the carbon knuckles and gauntlet etc or just a simple hand glove?

Haha I honestly don't even care about the football. I watch the commercials! :lol And the new Iron Man 3 trailer is supposed to be released during it.

I'm hoping I can get the weathering right! To much and it looks prefabricated, to little and you can't notice it...maybe I'll just put it all on and go roll in my garden for a while. :love Yeah under-soles kind of like a Spidey suit. I was trying to decided between boots and those. Deadpool artists keep switching between the two. Sometimes he has combat style boots on. And sometimes he has Spidey type shoes on with a black toe cap. My suit has the black toe caps so I was going that route. But we will see in the end.

And gloves I was thinking some type of motorcycle glove. But probably without any type of knuckles just as simple as I can get. And add a square version of his belt buckle to the backside of the hand. Some sort of cuff that extends up the wrist a bit, and for pirate pool I'll add a bigger cuff with hand stitching.

Re: Deadpool Suit is DONE! Ver 1.0!

That looks awesome, you should definetly sell these.

Hah there is NO way I'd sell the suits....way way to much time and effort to make just one!:lol Mask...well maybe in a few months if I have a time opening. Life is crazy right now.

Anyways I haven't even finished this suit and I already have an idea for another one. I'll post up pictures of my sculpt of that and my "Silly Pool" once they are both ready to be cast. Nothing like keeping everyone in suspense!!
