Cubone Deadpool Build.

Re: Deadpool Suit is DONE! Ver 1.0!

Looking good, bro! It's nice to see somebody else doing a Deadpool mask with expression. If you have the option to cast your undermask in foam latex, you may even be able to spirit gum it to your face and get movement out of it (which would be AWESOME.)

For mine, I had my face covered it liquid latex and done up to look scarred, and wore white-out eye contacts. Then my mask was made with two large eye holes and I could get all the expression I wanted. But with your mask, you've got those awesome comic book eyebrows, which looks legit. Very cool!

Anyhow, if you think about selling casts of the undermask, count me interested! I'm working on my new Deadpool costume now, and I plan on spending less time in the makeup chair for future wears, lol!

Lastly, question: how did you go about drafting that pattern? Is there a guide someplace on which points of your body to measure to make a custom pattern like that?

Re: Deadpool Suit is DONE! Ver 1.0!

I am also interested in buying a rubber mask. Let me know if you start selling them!

Yeah CosBlade your suit was one I took a lot of inspiration from! Haha and I can imagine you would want to spend less time in makeup chairs :lol

The pattern I used was drafted using This Site. It's all about making catsuits. I used it as a general guide and then modified it to what I needed.

I am also interested in buying a rubber mask. Let me know if you start selling them!

Will do.

Re: Deadpool Suit is DONE! Ver 1.0!

For the feet, use aqua sox, those shoes people wear into the water. If you look at my pics from Comic con, Crimzon22 uses them. You cant see them at all and they are sewn in by trophywife.

Yeah I have been trying to decide between those and boots. It depends on the final product I want I guess.

Thats cool lookin' your good at sculpting too.

Hey thanks. That means a lot to hear someone likes my sculpting hah. That is the first thing I have ever tried, so that is good encouragement for me to keep going.

Anyways...here's an update. Got a Pirate Pool belt buckle cast.

If I have time I'll paint it up tomorrow....Sculpting a regular belt buckle, new face and another project as well. I'll post something up sometime.

Re: Deadpool: Pirate Pool Buckle COMPLETE Page 4

Well little update. I tore apart my "Silly Pool" sculpt. I wasn't happy with it. So I'm going to finish sculpting my other project now. I'll add that to this thread soon I guess. So for now....Deadpool is in planning stages, and I'll work on him after I finish this sculpt. Maybe my excitement will peak again after a break....

What kind of latex did you use? Sorry if it's already been answered D:

I used Mask-Making latex. It is an Ammonia based non-foaming latex. I got it from fxsupply.com, as their actual shop is only one hour away from my house.

Re: Cubone All in One Thread: Deadpool Pirate Pool Buckle COMPLETE Page 4

Well no updates just yet.... but I figure I can spill the beans. So the other sculpt I am working on is a Udon Taskmaster mask/helmet. I fell in love with him through Deadpool and the 4 comic Taskmaster series by Udon. I am planning on doing a full build eventually. I also have the other belt buckle molded and am waiting for it to dry so I can cast one of those as well. I also have the pouches, belt, harness, and back scabbards designed for Deadpool. I am also going to go with boots for right now until I find the right soles for my suit.

Get to work on the masks! You will sell tons! They look so awesome!

Well thanks man! But I...well..I'm apprehensive to sell anything to be honest. First I can't sell anything yet even if I want to due to forum rules. But the MAJOR REASON is threads like THIS. I know that my work isn't "professional quality." Far from it actually. And I would hate to sell something to someone and have them be un-happy, or even worse slander my name and my work quality to the community.

I know that all sellers probably go through this, but it is a serious concern of mine as I take the quality of my work VERY seriously. But what I consider "good" might be sub-par for someone paying for an item. I'm almost tempted to send my mask to some upstanding and trust worthy person to have them seriously critique it before I make any decisions about anything. The only thing I would even feel remotely comfortable about selling would be the resin cast Pirate Pool buckle. But even then...I'm still apprehensive about doing it. Wow /end long rant haha but I felt it needed to get out there.

Thats understandable, but from the looks of it, I love it. Maybe make it onto a face shell, or do a small a little more than cost limited run. Maybe charge 10 to 15 dollars more than cost to make ,and limit it to 5 people. Let them know this is the prototype and let them critique it. That way everyone wins. You dont lose money, they get a cool mask, and you can learn what to do to make it better, then do a little bigger one with the changes and so on untill you are ready to do a full run. There are tons of Deadpool fans that are looking for a better look than the flat cloth look that most of them have.

Thanks again that does mean a lot! And once I am allowed to sell things I will start to really consider doing a small run like you said. As long as people would know that I am by no means a professional, and that it's just a prototype. Because I mean..I would like to offer the mask out to people that are interested. I mean I am honored that people want them. I have just never even thought about doing any runs with anything I have built before because I have just been building for the love of it. That and literally feeling like the closest other prop/armor/costume/cosplay builder is over 100 miles away :lol So I can't meet up with anyone to have them critique it.

Anyways like I said I'll consider it once I am allowed to sell here on therpf. But as of right now I can't..and doing so is frowned upon :behave.

But a little teaser I guess...I have started on the Deadpool buckle sculpt. I should have it in silicone by the end of today. I also have been working on designs for the other soft parts of the build. So I'm hoping to have a belt and pouches done in the next couple of days.

Non-Deadpool related stuff cause I don't have enough to start other build threads har har har.

I got my ear cap pieces for my Boba Fett helmet in silicone yesterday so those should be ready to cast out of next week. Also started smoothing the dome out yet again.

My Taskmaster sculpt....well I screwed up....again. I found another reference picture that totally changed how I'm going to do it. So it's now going to be cast in two pieces.

And I found a picture for an Iron Man crossover I want to start on. But I won't reveal that yet.

Anyways once I have pictures of all those they will have their own threads and this will be only Deadpool. OH! I also started resculpting another under face for my Deadpool mask. One with a different eye expression. So we will see how it turns out.

/end long post

I excited to see the next one! I plan on going to the next Comic con in may as Deadpool. I ordered a Sonjou suit, one with muscle tone printed on, and not just one of those chinese ones every one and their mom has. If you ever want to sell you mask, either one, let me know. I am ready for your 45 days to be up so you can post in the junkyard!

That's awesome! If I had the funds I would buy one of his prints. They look top quality. And I agree about the zentai suits. That's why I chose to make my own suit. It's just different enough to be my own :p I'm still tempted to do a thin latex muscle sculpt for the mid section. hmm...

Anyways...horrid news. I hate silicone caulking. I took every precaution before I molded my Fett helmet ear caps, stalk and rangefinder and Deadpool buckle. I did everything the same as when I molded my Pirate Pool Buckle. But....tried to demold today...aaaaaannnnnddddd the silicone stuck to every piece. So needless to say I lost about 5 days worth of work..stupid silicone caulk.....I'm going to have to re-make them all. :cry

Anyways...stupid silicone caulk...stupid snow...stupid silicone caulk...I'll update later.

Totally feel you on that one, man. Speaking from experience, if you start selling pieces, people who are unhappy will ALWAYS be louder about it than people who are happy. But that's just business in general.

The best thing you can do is to make sure you accurately advertise your work. If you think there are flaws, point them out. I did this when I sold my work, none of which is the best there is, but I was honest in my own opinions of my work and as a result, had maybe two people get upset with the final product over the span of a year.

Honesty is the best policy. The fact is that many people who go out looking to buy custom cosplays have a a tiny budget and yet HUGE expectations. You just gotta be on your toes.

Whether or not you start to sell, I'm looking forward to updates! Between your mask sculpt and the dye-sub that Shades is working on, I'm looking at my Deadpool version 2 and thinking I might have to scrap it and do better! And that's a good thing!!!
