Little bit of an update time! Woots!

I managed to get over 60 bucks worth of fabric and supplies for under 25. YAY FOR COUPONS!!!

So I got some white swimsuit lining for the eye fabric. I believe it was 10ish percent spandex? And then the red is swimsuit spandex which is 18ish percent spandex.

Here is a shot through the white fabric to show the high amount of visibility.



And here is a picture of quite a bit together.



And a picture with the fabric under a rough pull. The spandex is not mounted to the latex so there is a gap right now and you can see it scrunched up. But that will be fixed later. Also the hood that everything is under is a painters sock. That will be UNDER the latex and the latex will be mounted to it with the red over top. It's just there to hold everything so I could get a picture :rolleyes



I have the day off tomorrow so I'm hoping to get something roughed up all the way!

Well got out of class early. So what did I do? Play with latex! YAY for ammonia fumes! :lol

I screwed up two of my casts that were tinted black...found out the hard way gorilla glue is not flexible >.< That's what I get for gluing on my fabric for the eyes. So I had to go ahead and paint up my uncolored cast and I'm trying out a dual color cast right now. I painted a black tinted latex in and let it partially cure before I filled the entire mold with un colored. We will see what it looks like tomorrow

Started drafting up my patterns for the fabric covering on my mask as well. I'm going to kind of base my mask sew lines off this guy.

And partially off this guy



I'm trying not to have the line that goes straight down the back of the head. so I'm modifying it a bit.

Also YAAARRR!! I be building a Pirate Pool costume Well I'm building a regular DP...but I'm going to make the pirate accessories so I can switch between them. I'm currently sculpting this belt buckle.

I don't think I've seen anyone make an undermask for the hood before. That is a great idea and from what you've done, it looks great too! Can't wait to see more updates!

Hey thanks I really appreciate it! I had never seen it either but I thought if I could pull it off it would be epic! I hope I can do it justice

Anyways here's pictures! YAY!

So up first is a nice picture of the Pirate Pool belt buckle sculpt I finished.



And then I got the latex mask attached to the painter's hood. It is such a good fit!! I just need to trim the fabric around the neck so it doesn't bunch up. The next step is to attach me some eye fabric and some red fabric once I figure out the stupid pattern It's being a pain...



And I experimented with two tone castings. Kind of came out cool but not perfect. I may use it for experimentation...hmm...



Anywho. Bed time for this 'Pool. I'll work some more and post some stuff up tomorrow. I'm hoping to get the belt buckle molded...the mask fabric'd up...and...I dunno..maybe eat a chimichanga...Oh the wonders of a Saturday!

Thanks SDUK! And I agree that pic is awesome. I think it's from one of the Marvel games like Marvel vs Capcom or something of that nature haha. And I know right? I was looking at all these deadpool builds and I just needed to do one!!

But here is a pre-lunch update for you all. Woke up early and got the eye fabric all put in.



I got the first layer on my mold for my belt buckle as well. So hopefully I will be able to pull a cast later today of that! And I'm still trying to figure out this stupid stupid hood pattern I realize that I suck at drafting sewing patterns :lol

Anyways time for food and some work. I'll update later when I get some more progress done.

That's lookin great! The picture you posted of dead pool was my inspiration as well its awesome! Yours is coming along really well! Ill tell you I had a hard time trying to get my red fabric hood to work out correctly as well. It still bunches at the neck though, but I will hav a black neck brace so it won't show. Keep it up dude!

Thanks for the encouragement! I really love that pic of DP hah. Yeah I'm still having issues with it. I roughed out a basic pattern but I keep changing it because it's not laying right. And I agree completely about the black neck collar covering the bunching. But I have to get some red fabric on my mask first

I got my belt buckles in silicone mold right now and I'll put some plaster mother mold on them tomorrow once it is dry. And like I said I almost got this frickin fraggin stupid hood pattern figured out So tomorrow will be a good day hopefully!

Well semi-update here.

The silicone on my mold isn't totally set up. I'm worried it may have gone on to thick and the inside won't set up...blech. I'm going to give it another day at least of curing. I may put it inside a hot box to try and cure it.

I am |___| that close to figuring out this pattern for my hood. Once I have it all figured out I'll post up a 1:1 scale pattern if anyone else would like to try it out. It's a modified Zentai hood.

So it's snowing here.... a lot...so...I went and bought more Deadpool Comics today! :lol YAY! And I was browsing and I found this...

And I almost am certainly going to do that Deadpool. It's like a Venom DP combo...SO COOL LOOKING! Also I am a fan of the new Mercenary Venom look.

But anyways I derail my own build haha. Today and tomorrow are going to be a lot more hectic than I thought so I may not have any more progress pictures to post up till later this week. Stupid graduate school deadlines and all...

Haha nice! I know how that is...my buddy wants me to teach him how to build a foam Iron Man :confused Yeah he can figure it out lol...

But anyways some update time!

My belt buckle silicone caulk mold is STILL hardening. Goodness....I know I put it to thick. But my heater is saving the day. I'm going to leave it to at least Wednesday under my heating set up >=]

I have been messing around with some patterns for my hood. And I FINALLY got a result...Took me long enough right? The eye holes are WAY to big...I cut them normal size and they stretched out :lol So that and the little bump on the forehead will be fixed with my V2 hood pattern I already drafted. Oh and my next one will be 17 percent bigger. This one is WAY to tight.


So without further build up...


... *drumroll* ...


MY DEADPOOL PROTOTYPE #1!!!




I'm really excited with how it turned out. It is SO much better than I thought it was going to be. V2 of the hood should be exactly what I want. The last step is to glue the fabric to the under mask so it is all one piece. I also got my hands on an airbrush, so I may repaint the mask black as well.

Anyways let me know what you think!

Thanks Neo! I'm hoping that I can do the rest of suit justice cause I have spent a good amount of time on the mask/hood alone haha.

Anyways. Since you lovely people have been so kind about looking in on my thread. I went ahead and got inspired to redo the red part of the hood. so here is version 1.1!



And just a funny pic...You can see my mouth movement in this one. I need to trim up the edges so they don't show up as much. And I might puffy paint some seam lines to kind of bring everything together.
