Holly guacamole! Man, I just discovered this thread, and it BLEW my mind. Gotta love Lovecraft and all his world! My brother and I are huge Lovecraft geeks, though he's more into the Cthulhu mythos than I am. I myself think nothing can beat his Dream Cycle, but Cthulhu and the other Elders are just GENIUS. And fella, I gotta say you nailed it! I haven't ever really liked any portrayal from Lovecraft's world except Jason Thompson's (aka Mockman), but your Cthulhu is perfect! Congratulations! And I certainly look forward to having one of these sooner or later!
I'm getting better with the old table saw (I think I need a better blade though. The cuts aren't nearly as clean as I'd like.) and picked up miter saw to help with making accurate angle cuts. My woodworking skills are pretty feeble but slowly getting better.
Now a bunch of sanding, gluing, staining and sealing ahead.
I have been following this thread for a while and I would love to purchase a casting as well! I've been a Lovecraft fan for some time now and this is one of the best interpretation of the Cthulhu statue I've seen. Just wondering though, is it hollow casting or a solid casting?
Including The Damned Thing, The Novel of the Black Seal (a major influence on The Call of Cthulhu!) and The Red Hand (quoted in The Horror at Red Hook).
