I thought I could cast these at home, but the detail is too complex for a gravity pour of molten metal.
The castings I poured were missing some detail, even after heating the molds first and adjusting the temperature of the metal...
So, I'm having to send some prototype models to a pewter company to have them do the casting for me. The good news, is that they will be professionally cast with every bit of detail you see on the clay model! The bad news, is that it's going to cost more...
I'll still have to fine-tune the raw castings so they can be assembled perfectly before shipping them off again to be gold-plated.
These should be ready in early February.
When I get the gold parts back on the one I sent, and get it assembled and take some photos of it to show off, then I'll post up the Interest List.
It should only be a couple of weeks from now!
