A question if someone can advise me on.

if im wanting to make a mold of the nike mag heel cup. its one piece but on the right side or left side of it there is a hole where the LED lights would go.

would it be best to do a two part silicone mold of this piece made from sculptey,

how do you go about pouring in the silicone liquid for this process so that the original sculptey part can easily be taken out from the mold once cured?

How do you guys normally make a mold if something has a hole in it like this?

Either a two piece mold, creating a barrier against the hole with tape, or fill the hole with plasticene or sculpey an mold it. The number of copies is your deciding factor. Do more work on the mold or on every casting.

Cheers,

JM

I'd just fill in the hole with a thin wall of sculpting clay as well and cut it out on the castings.

cool.
yeah, i think filling the hole seems the easiest, rather than going with that glueshim.

ill give it a go, thanks
