Hey Guys and Gals, Since iv'e seen a lot of builds lately i thought i would post a thread as well. This is my personal suit i started on for myself for Comic Con this year. I'm doing the super all out version i offer now. Which is dying the front and back, puff painted mixed with a little bit of latex, silicone back spider in the works and latex webbing all around. Here is how far i got on my suit. As you can see all the puff painting is done and just need to get the silicone back spider then done, and onto the red dye front and back with webbing. This print came in light and didn't want to wait for a replacement so keep that in mind, but i do offer prints with all the colors separated and regular normal ones as you can see in this thread.

More updates to come soon.

How were you planning on sewing the pieces that you cut back together? Don't you need extra fabric around each edge?

trufunky: My prints our long to begin with so i didn't need extra fabric around the edge plus my build is very slim. If anyone orders a print with the colors separated it will have more extra edges.

dangalang: I used a fabric dye threw a airbrush.

Looks good! When you say you dye the front and back what exactly is that for? I'm new so forgive the newbie questions. Is it so when stretched it doesn't show white? What type dye do you use?

Correct. If you spray the back all the way and the front a bit it helps that fading effect in the color. I'm not sure if i'm aloud to say what dye since it was given to me by a forum member so it's up to him. But it's not regular dye like Rit or Dylon.

Do you think fabric markers would work? By the way your horror masks look spot on! Ever think about replicating the William shatner from h1 an 2?

It could work but you would need a lot of them. You just have to watch out on them bleeding threw and making it all even.

Thanks man, probably in the future some time after i finish a few other projects.

So knocked out all red dying and the webbing in the past 2 days. Going to ship it out for sewing and will post a pic once i get it back.

Not sure if you or anyone has done this before but can you dye sub the areas without cutting the suit up? What I mean is can you do the blue and leave it where it meets the red then wait for it to dry and hit the red? Or will it bleed over into each other?

and dont you think the latex will crack and wont be as shiny as when u just applied it?

Iv'e used Latex And Puff Paint before and to me Latex holds wayyyy better then straight Puff Paint. You can add stuff to the latex or over it to get a non shiny look as well.

It would depend on your method how you apply the dye. A few methods there is a chance it can bleed over.
