This just burns my biscuits. A guy is GIVEN a fullsize replica (cast from the original prop!) of Han In Carbonite, and what does he do? He has Harrison Ford's face chopped out of it, and his own scruffy looking nerf-herding mug planted in there instead. :unsure

That is the single lamest cast from screen used piece in existence. :sick

Why? Just... Why?

Why? By the Force, WHY?!

I can see the novelty of that, but don't defile a cast-from-screen-used one like that. At least use some fan made crap one, or better yet have it done from scratch.

WHY?!!!

I agree, what an IDIOT!!!

Why would anyone want to destroy major league collectable like that? Especially if he has friends who can do decent quality lifecasting.

I can understand wanting a unique and one of a kind item. I've got lots of friends who want me to "freeze" them, like I did with Jar Jar. But I would NEVER ruin something like that to do it. And I don't know of anyone who would even dare to ask such a thing.

I heard about this a few weeks ago. This guy is actually a friend of a good friend of mine. Bonus Fact: the guy who did this is one of the original Simpsons writers, and the inspiration for Millhouse (can't you see the resemblance?).

The one thing I didn't know until later was that my friend Dana had been holding his bare ass and balls directly in front of my algae covered face while my head was encased.

:lol:lol:lol

That must be a universal makeup shop thing... :D

(and you can BET there's Polaroids somewhere...)

Well I wouldn't get too "up-in-arms" about this, as when they say it was a "direct casting off the original prop" they are talking about the licensed Illusive Concepts one. You can tell by the backs of the hands/fingers. On the originals they was a large undercut behind his outstretched fingers that IC filled in to make production of their replicas easier. Below are a couple screen captures from ESB that show what I'm talking about.

So it does seem a shame to mess with a cool replica like this, but it's not really destroying a one of a kind DIRECT casting from the original. If I get a hold of one of these replicas or a similar casting, you know that I'll be modifying it to make it more accurate, but not to put my own face into it! ;)

Thanks for the clarification! So it isn't nearly as rare a casting as it seemed.

I choose to remain outraged. :lol

If I got Han in carbonite I wouldn't put my face on it either. I would get a hold of that guy so I could get a copy of his face and I'd have a replica of his replica of a copy of a replica of the original!:lol

I've been saving up for a lifesize HIC and to see some idiot just ruin the one he's got makes me boil!
