Finally, we are finished. Here are some pictures of the finished suit that we sent out today. The suit is made out of latex, foam filled, with a ridged foam shell. The suit isn't as flexible as we had hoped...limited Ninja moves , however since I am not going to be doing any backflips onto some Foot Clan scum, I'm okay with that. It feels great in the costume. You can walk around, pose, etc. Anyway, we hope you enjoy the final piece, as we have.
Pretty simple actually. Get a piece of plastic, like a zip lock bag and cut it open because you only need to use one layer of plastic, not both layers. Next, take a ball point BIC pen and gut it. Take out the pen tip and ink stick so all you have is the entire housing, including the original tip. Place the plastic against your sculpture and use the pen housing tip and make a dot. Now you only have 100,000 more to go. That is literally how the texture was created.
Just so there is no confusion, I left XDFX in 2007 and re-entering the costuming world with my new studio Rogue Design FX. When I was with Xtreme Design FX we always used my account to post, so your question came to me even though I am no longer part-owner.
That being said, I still figured I could help ya out!
