Could anyone please help identify this kit part?

Hey folks.
Hoping you knowledgable folk might be able to let me know what this curved kit part with the holes in is please?
It looks awful familiar - and i'm thinking its some sort of suspension piece from a military kit - but i just can't place it, nor can i find one in my bits box.
Any help would be appreciated!
