Copper Pipe question...

Hi,
I just bought some 1/4" copper pipe and I was wondering if anyone could give some advise on how to make it smaller. I thought about heating it up and then pulling it to stretch it out. But I don't know if that would work. :confused I would like it to be about 1/8" in diameter. I couldn't find that size anywhere! I'm trying to replicate a small hydraulic cylinder.

Hey! I'm a hydraulic specialist! For real.
Was this for display or did youwant this to actually work? :confused
Making scaled actuators isnt very hard to do. In fact, you can find all the parts you need at a local hardware store.

for 1/8", you could just use copper wire rather than tube... #10 electrical wire is probably around 1/8".

that's assuming you just need it to look like a hydraulic piece, not actually work like one.

Like tk7602 says using wire is the way to go. You can probably pick up correct size wire, by the foot, at the Homedepot/Lowes. Something around 10-12 guage. You would just need to strip the sheathing.

However
If you are a glutton for punishment you could do it by making a tiny T dolly(The top of the T would need to be the inside dia of your finished tube) then section the 1/4 tube and reform it over the dolly. Then solder the seam. I have made tubing from flat sheet this way, but it would be really hard going that small.

Thanks! No, it doesn't need to work, although, it would be cool. Wait, so i can buy Hydraulic cylinders that small? I will defiantly check that out. Thanks a lot everyone!
