Just saw these pics myself. Although the lines look nice an crisp, the bevel that happenes with etching will prove to be a problem for the final proto.

When sanding down beveled shapes, the surface changes thus making the engravings look different. Also, the depth of the etching can't be controlled as you can see, thin lines are less deeply etched than wide areas.

What i want to do is see if laserengraved acrylic will look better, because that method 'etches' straight down without the bevel and a more uniform depth

They look great, but you're right about the bevel being a problem. I hope you have better luck with the acrylic. Can't wait to finally get one of these after all this time. Sure is worth the wait though.

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project

looks like laserengraving is the way to go. Please note there was an error with the 'L' :) other than that i am very pleased with the result and i hope to have the laserengraved parts soon so i can finish the proto.

Great job!

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project

Wow — that's nice.

So a laser just vaporized all the negative space?

It's great to see progress. :)

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project

Now I really want to see how the rest of the lighter looks.

So the badges are going to be cast separatel from the lighter then put together or will they be pu together then cas as one?

I am waiting to get the pics of the laserengraved pieces, will probably have them in a couple of days.

the coins will be cast seperately and goldplated like the original
