well, once i have the etched/engraved sheets, i can make the master pretty quick and i have a foundry in the Netherlands who can most likely do these for me no problem. I already have plenty gold zippo inserts and hinges in stock.

After consulting my good friend and experienced CNC dude Rob from replicaprops, i have decided to have the panels both etched and laserengraved (to see what will give the best results). According to Rob, CNC-ing will not look too good in the really sharp corners.
I just finished the etch/engrave file in .AI. Printing it tomorrow to see if all is alright and then of the file goes to the laserengraver and the magnesium ether.

these will be cut out and glued to the inner frame which will be cnc machined. Any imperfections etc will the be cleaed up. I will then have a master model of the lighter pieces and the medal. Of these, silicon molds will be made, which the foundy will use to make wax copies. These wax xopies will be usedby them to mae brass castings.
The raw casings will be cleaned by me and then assembled.

sorry, but I just had to say, this has been by far my fav thread to follow since the Brass KNuckles thread.
Not just because I am a Constantine fan, but because I love to see members banding together to get a
project done. Various artists helping out, people getting screen grabs. Its really awesome.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what font is used on both the lighter and the brass knuckles. If anyone can let me know, please PM me as to not hijack this thread any more than I already have. Thanks.

.ai file has been sent to the magnesium etcher, should be done soon, When the etchings are in, i can finally start building the prototype which will be used for the brasscasting.
