Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 04-09-2009 - Pics of brass parts are up*

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 16-7-07*

Wow!

I am doubly impressed.

First, at LeMarchand's continuing excellent work on this project, and second, at Juno's one punch TKO.

Impressive work both of you!

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 25-6-07*

would look better machined--sorry--just my opinion--I can go down to a .004 dia tool and can machine it on the actual brass

Ehm...what's keeping you? All you have to do is your own research and artwork (i made sure the artwork for this one has some tells, so you really would have to do it all yourself this time i am affraid, sorry about that.... :rolleyes)

Anyway, you wouldn't want to work with me on this one anyway, last thing i heard you were taking huge dumps on my work, so you are best of finding a more skilled propmaker.

I'll just follow the path for this one i feel is best and let the people who buy them decide for themselves whether or not they like it or not.

Godspeed...

Marc

Wasnt slamming your work at all. You have done an awesome job with this.
I commend you on the time. skill and effort that you have put into it.
You are to be congratulated. Im sure that the finished pieces will be fantastic.

I was just making a comment on the difference between etching and actual machining. Sorry if you took it wrong.

Great job.

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 16-7-07*

I do believe the picture Juno posted shows "actual" machining (yours).

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 16-7-07*

Yes-she showed the piece that Was messed up--I admit it--but go back thru the posts when the original Knucks thread was started and see the good work that was done and the accolades that were given. Everyone messes up once in a while--I admit it--not saying that the piece shown was great-- But how come just the bad stuff is shown and not the good stuff????

Because you tried to rip off RPF members. You are highjacking Mark's thread, and I think everyone was quite happy with progress before you started posting. I suggest to you that you cut your losses.

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 16-7-07*

I think it also boils down to how you treated people through that whole debacle. You were an A#%Hole about it. Acted like you were doing favors, when you weren't.

Gonna take some of us a long time to get over the way you treated someone we call a friend.

it might also help if you came up with a project on your own, instead of piggybacking on other peoples ideas.

Carry on, Dude, I'd guess you're well on the way to a ban already. Nice to see the real guy again after the pathetic 'crybaby' apology threads :rolleyes

Who are you calling out as a crybaby? I was just telling you why people are giving you a hard time and that quote above just sent you back to square one, from which I personally don't think you will be coming back from.

As for crying about it. YOU are the one that started two threads asking for forgiveness, and crying about no one answering in your threads, AND saying that you were leaving and didn't.....after this outburst, maybe you should!:rolleyes

Clay, let's face it, the real Crybaby in all this is you yourself.

-you tried to shaft someone in this community who is considered by myself and many others a skillful artisan and friend. You only made amends (and cutting a lot of corners in the process) when he made his dealings with you public on this forum.

-Realising we don't take kindly to that kind of behaviour, you post a 'i am so sorry' thread, which hardly gets any replies. We have seen that kind of thing happen a gazillion times before and even has it's own term in our community: Reinvention of oneself.

-in all honesty, i don't think you even like movieprops, you just realised making them could make you a nice chunk of change. With your machining skills you could have become a well respected member here, who a lot of people would have loved to have done projects with. But, your behaviour, your views on ownership of graphical work/patterns etc has left many of us with a bad taste in our mouths and very reluctant to do any bussiness with you.

Thanks bro, most of the work was done by you :) The method i used for cleaning the recessed surface up turned out to work really well. Next time we have to laserengrave something like this, we should do a negative right away and make a resin mold of that, the resin mold can be sanded down and then a resin copy can be made in the resin mold (siliocone moldrelease spray turned out to work great in preventing the resin mold and casting resin bonding to eachother.)

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 16-7-07*

I love this--its so much fun to see the rise I get out of everyone with a small comment. My life isnt affected by it but it sure seems like a lot of yours are---- thats ok--I appreciate the work a lot of you do here--really-- there are a lot of good artisans and talent here-- you all do really great work--but a lot of you seem like you are all better than everyone-- the attitudes leave much to be desired.

Anyhow--everyone carry on. Keep up the good work everyone. Dont let anyone stop what you want to do--Im not!!!!!!

That's called trolling and could earn you another strike.

Take your lumps from the membership without complaint. You earned them.

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 16-7-07*

To get things back on track a bit, here's the current progress:

-i am currently doing the same thing with the coin as i did with the panels. I should be able to cast a resin negative coin tonigh and sand the recessed area smooth. The i'll make a mold of that, and a mold of that mold. Then i can cast clean resin coins from that final mold.

Once the coins are done, i can make them fit in the panels/

Biggest headache at the moment is making the flipping extended lever for the zippo perfect. Which is more of a b**ch than i would have imagined.

Then i can assemble all loose pieces, clean it all up and then the master will be done.

I will make a mold of the master and start with an interrest thread for resin copies. 10-20 of ém. They will come with resin extended zippo levers, which will be replaced for free with brass ones, once i have everything set up with the foundry (the resin is too soft for extended use i have learned when it come to this part.

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 16-7-07*

i know this last phase is taking a bit longer than pkanned, but i am really busy with family stuff and i just don't want to cut any corners on this project and rush the last bit, with 2 years it has already taken, that would be a shame.

Re: Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 16-7-07*

And I thought my National Treasure Pipe was the biggest headache to make!:wacko

Great work so far Marc!
