Constantine: Lighter Project *UPDATE 04-09-2009 - Pics of brass parts are up*

Great work Mike ... :) Are you tracing the coin next?

I am still waiting to hear back from Clay whether or not his we have a deal.

I'm so excited. If we can get this one going like we did the Brass Knuckles my god...there will be no stopping us lol. Demons everywhere will run at any mention of the RPF.

I am so excited for this as well. I can't wait. And, just like bondoking, I too have taken up smoking in preperation for this lighter.

I have come to an agreemebt with clay regarding the manufacturing of the parts and engraving. As soon as Mike has all the tracing done we will have a proto done in aluminium to see if everything works the way it should. The way it looks now the lighter will be as follows:

-Machined brass bodyparts
-Patterns engraved instead of etched
-real zippo lighter inside
-engraved benedict coins, goldplated.
-correct sized optical brass hinges with 5 knuckles

Not forgotten by me, either. Especially since there's one of those Japanese exclusive Zippos on eBay right now that's going for over $1,000.

If the Japanese ones aren't going to become more commonly available, this project just has to be kept alive.

I can't believe the amount those Japanese Zippos are going for...those were $99. And they're not even accurate replicas.

Don't worry, this project won't die and neither will they cost $1000. It is just a very labour intensive project which we want to do as accurate as possible.

:confused Did whoever bought it think it was screen used or something? Some people. Since the auction is done, can someone post a link.

The Zippo collecting community is like ours. There are some really rare ones to collect and the serious collectors are willing to pay big money. (try telling a zippo collector you just forked over $2500 for a costume that was seen in a movie)

as soon as Mike has the final vector tracings done and i have enough money to pay for a run (am expecting a large payment), Clay can make a prototype and we take it from there.
