Commission the true designers from the movie?

Out of pure curiosity, is there not a place where you can find the original costume designers that the producers paid for the move and commission them to do the same for you? I know the suits would probably run thousands of dollars (especially good ole Tony Stark's), but still...

For the most part they are under strict copyright laws that they cannot make more than the original

They are just workers, not copyright owners. They are under contract to not replicate anything made for the studios since they don't own what they make.

If you're a fan of Aliens, Terry English still makes Colonial Marine armour to order.
It'll run you about 4 or 5 grand, though... But is identical to the screen-used pieces, and bloody lovely.
