Okay, I've seen some pics of the Potter props at the SDCC. Any better pics? Specifically of the Death Eater costume (I think that was at the Gentle Giant booth) and then there were props displayed at the ArtBox booth.

Thanks thanks thanks.

Okay, I edited to get a little more specific....any fellow Potter fans go to Comic Con?

Was there any pics of the wands used? I literally am just finishing up a Voldemort wand, so the more reference te marrier, I have mostly been using a combination of the NC pic and screen grabs.

Aren't the NC wands cast directly off the screen-used?

I know four of the Noble wands to be new sculpts, so I assume all of them are. Fine details are missing or slightly adrift, and proportions are slightly off. They are fine replicas, though, and you'd never tell the difference by merely glancing at a real wand and then at a replica.

One of the members here has Krum's screen-used wand and I thought it matched the NC one almost exactly (the paint job was definitely different).

I've been told by a friend who frequently handles Screen-used items for clients that details of the replicas varied enough to distinguish a difference between them and the real. The replica Voldemort wand was the wand being discussed at the time. I am eager to see how the Noble matches up to my S.U. wand from H.P.P.o.A.

In all fairness to the Krum wand, it IS a very simple and straight forward design and thus has less potential for 'tells'.

But even Draco's wand, the most basic design possible, differs between the prop and the replica. I am guessing that the sculptor worked from studio archive photos of the screen-used props and not directly. Either that or the variations are intentional tells.

Yeah, I know for sure the Voldemort is different, I sculted my basic shape of that wand off the Noble Collections wand, then went back and changed that sculpt to match the screen used, the paint job is the real problem for me though. I have to repaint it later today..again. :p

Do you remember what was different about the voldemort wand?
So I can check it with my sculpt.
Also I based my length of the wand based off a measurement of 13 1/2 inches from a screen used one, I didn't take the measurement myself though, just read it in a report. I believe the NC one is 14inches instead.

Those are the pics that started me on the hunt for SDCC Potter pics. Some sweet stuff.

(Oh, and thanks D6.)

Your welcome.

Gee I guess I should have looked at the whole booth instead of just the end as I walked by.
Had more important things to take pix of. :D
Next year.
