collection showoff! - Video Tour - last page

Re: Collection Showoff- Pics on every page! cuz that's how I roll.

A belated congratulations on the new (and very cute) addition to the family. Your collection continues to amaze me...doesn't look like the little darling is slowing you down that much either...:lol

wow - it's really nice having these great prop makers post on your thread - Magnoli your indy stuff is something that I've never hesitated to collect when I could find it.

On a side note - that comment regarding my sword made me put the sword the right way... and then I realized I didnt' like it that way - so I took it off the stand, out of the scabbard... polished it, looked at it, was about to put it back into the scabbard when something happened - It was like time all of a sudden started moving slowly and I could feel that something wrong was going to happen but I couldn't control it (anyone else ever feel this way?)

Anyways, I saw in slow motion the sword slipping out of the scabbard.. I tried to stop it - I don't know how I was holding this thing for this to happen - "I've done this hundreds of times," I thought to myself..... next thing I know my finger is next to the blade while this thing is falling downwards and I realize that I have just suffered the worst cut I have gotten since I can remember...

Ugh- luckily I have doctors in the family - they say I don't need stitches - but the cut is right on my index finger so I'm totally inconvenienced.... All because my sword was upside down :unsure

it was a pretty rotten weekend - all these random little accidents happened to me. It was like murphy's law decided to assert itself and make up for the last 28 lucky years of my life..

Crap. Guess I should learn to keep my mouth shut.

Just an amazing collection! And congrats on the little one. I especially love the flooring in your basement. Makes it really look like a museum. You should be very proud (of the baby I mean). ;)

Impressive ,absolutely outstanding , you must be the most hated man in America !!!!!! LOL.......

Re: Collection Showoff- Pics on every page! cuz that's how I roll.

Okay - my finger is healed! So where was I???? OH yes.. onwards to more props! (by the way - thanks again to all those who posted nice comments - always always appreciated :))

Posted this before - but here it is again - a little revised - batman assorted props and weapons. I couldn't fit all of them on this pegboard - so I'll have to make another one at some point

Geordi visor from Droidboy! Great great great piece. Always loved Star Trek and this piece is a lot of fun. Yes, I wore it in the office and freaked people out. I didn't have this screwed into my forehead so I had to use some scotch tape :lol

Knight Rider Comlink watch by Kitt1. Whoa - this piece came out of no where. Kitt1 said that it was 5 years in the making. I have no idea how he managed to contain himself this long and keep this fabulous piece a secret. Awesome detail (it's supposed to be white, but I kept the blue protective plastic on the front watch face)
IMG_9414-1.jpg

Here's a ridiculously awesome but random piece that I never thought I'd get or find. From SimmonM a daredevil billyclub. It's pretty heavy with all those metal detail parts. I believe Rylo made this a while back. Must have been before my time - I've never seen these before being offered.

Here's a MR V2 that I got a few weeks ago from Jaakub. This is the first time I've seen a v2. I really like the weathering. (Sorry for the blurry pic - low light - no filters - so damn busy... sigh- such is life :rolleyes)

IMG_9426-1.jpg

So that's it for now - more to come soon - I just have to get some displays in order - but I have some big props to show soon. For the photo snobs, no - these pictures are not white balanced. There is obviously a tinge of yellow going through all of my pics...I'm getting lazy and I couldn't break out the light stands between diaper changes. :rolleyes

edit- nope I fixed the color in the pics - It was bothering me too damn much. hah

Thanks! - Yea - you generally don't do stuff like that until you're married. It makes it harder for them to leave you. :lol

Soon enough you'll have a super hero armory. Those are some wonderful additions! I can't get the mental image of you walking around work with Geordi's visor on!

I wanted to start a collection thread but compared to you and some of the others I need to up my game! LOL! :)

Re: Collection Showoff- Pics on every page! cuz that's how I roll.

Huge updates coming this week. Lots of displays in the works.. I couldn't wait to show you these two pieces though. First up, a Venom bust sculpted by Mike Hill. I got this from my good friend Simmon M. I had to have this bust. As an avid fan of Spiderman and reader of the comics in the 80's and 90's, this bust truly portrays the venom that I know. (believe it or not kids venom should NOT look like he did in Spiderman 3) So here it is. I love it, and proud to display it in my collection. (Oh, and now that this is here, I see sideshow has a matching carnage bust..... my wallet is not pleased right now)

For a long time I have wanted to "beef" up my Indiana Jones collection. Relicmaker and his cross, Magnoli and his staff of Ra piece, Azuma and his glowing sankara stones were some great great pieces. Now I have the pleasure of adding a Gobler idol to my collection. This piece is absolutely fantastic. I know "Gobler" went through a lot to get his first run out. He put himself through hell and back to get this second run out. I'm pretty sure this was his last and final run and I feel very lucky to have been a part of it. For those who don't know, Jeff (Gobler) used the same plating company as the original idol and I believe that this is cast from an original idol. This is about as accurate as they get :thumbsup (now I just gotta track one down with moving eyes!)

The Gobler idol looks incredible ... and that display base ain't too shabby either! ;)

Re: Collection Showoff- new pics on last page! big updates this week stay tuned

Got this wonderful stand from "Superman." It's made of wood with nearly hidden velcro straps to hold down the claws. Great construction with holes in the back for easy hanging on the wall. Thanks Superman! (by the way, I find it SO surprising that for all the members of the RPF that the SN "Superman" was still available until 2009)

I couldn't figure out who sold me the actual claws. I tried to look but couldn't find the old PM's. The claws are metal, even the block that they're attached to are metal. I was surprised how pointy they are. You could really hurt someone with them... heh heh...

On a side note - is this thread getting too ridiculous? Should I cut back the pictures or move them all to page 1 or something? I'm just trying to share and later on hopefully share in getting my prop room in order so I can rival the professionalism of GF, Vaderdarth, Simmon M and many others.... I don't know.. what do you think? :unsure

Oh and I'm sure many of you have seen the Airwolf screen used 5 foot miniature thread: (I didn't want that to get lost in the ridiculousness of this thread)
