Dazed and Confused Paddles

Going to attemp to recreate the 3 main paddles used in Dazed and Confused. Just wondering if anyone has attempted this before or if anyone has any information on these things. Curious to the dimensions, thickness, type of wood, ect. I think if I can figure this stuff out, recreating the images themselves on the paddles shouldn’t be too hard. TIA

That’s kind of what I was leaning towards as well. Wish I could find some close to accurate measurements.
I’m going to guess they’re Cricket paddles. I’d start there. If anything like baseball/softball, there are probably rules on “bat” dimensions.

They resemble cricket bats but the D&C paddles are flat on both sides whereas cricket bats are angled on the back and have a slight arc to the front side.

They aren't cricket bats. In the movie, the seniors made them in wood shop. They're definitely pine. I'd probably start by looking at regular 1x6 dimensional #2 pine. These days you may have to sort through a few boards to find a paddle length without pronounced knots, as the quality of #2 has suffered over the years. You could go with clear pine, but the Soul Pole looks to have a few mild knots.
